A A A A

*Lyrics from song is in italics*

The rain falls on my windows

And a coldness runs through my soul.

She sat there at the table, her head down as she played with her fingers in her lap. She couldn't say anything. She couldn't face the man whom she had hurt so much with her actions. She tried to prevent the tears that wanted so desperately to fall from her eyes, but, they slipped out anyways.

If only she was standing outside right now, then her tears would blend in with the rainfall, but instead she was inside her home. She felt so cold, so small, so...heartless. How could she betray such a man who had done nothing but love her with all of his heart? How could she stray from their once happy relationship?

She looked up at him through her blurred vision, but she could still see the pained look on his face, the anger that was deep within him. He was like this because of her. He was heart-broken because of her. He was bitter because of what she had done to him. No words could take back everything that she had done. It was as though he had been hit with a car. It was as though she didn't care about him. No amount of words could make him accept her or take her back. How could he ever trust this woman again?

I wish that I could photoshop all of our bad memories

'Cause the flashback, oh the flashbacks, won't leave me alone.

Memories of that night flashed through her mind. The way her body had so desperately lusted for another. The way she had went to another man to...satisfy her damned needs. The way she used that other man for her own satisfaction while breaking the one who was sitting across from her right now. She wanted to erase it all. She wanted to go back in time and prevent that night from happening. But, what's done had been done. She had obviously thrown away what she had hoped would last forever. Their love, their relationship...him.

She gripped the hem of her white dress. She wasn't pure. She wasn't as innocent as everyone had thought. Even she made mistakes--mistakes that she wished that she could...change. If only that night wouldn't constantly flash in her mind every time she closed her eyes, every time she looked into the eyes of the only man whom she had ever loved. Which is why she had told him. She couldn't keep it from him. He would have found out eventually and then what?

Did admitting her mistakes make anything better? Did she deserve some credit for what she had done? Did she deserve forgiveness? Would he forgive her?

She sighed. The silence was killing her. Neither one of them were talking. Neither one of them could tear their gaze from the other. Neither one of them knew what to do next.

She feared what was going through his mind. She feared that if he did speak, it'd be something that'd change the course of their relationship forever. But, then again, she had done just that. She had completely destroyed the trust--the love.

I admit I cheated, don't know why I did it

But I do regret it. Nothing I can say or do can change the past.

Yes. She knew that there was nothing that can possibly be done to solve this. Her begging wouldn't change the fact that she had tossed their relationship aside. Her tears wouldn't erase the damage that had been done. Her words wouldn't alleviate the pressure of the situation. Would it be better to just sit there and suffer through it? The tension...it could be cut with a knife. It was so thick. His glare, it penetrated her very being. The way he looked at her...hatred, disgust, disbelief...

What could she say? What could she do? Nothing. She couldn't convince him. What was there to convince? She had cheated. She had done just what she had promised him she wouldn't do at the start of their relationship. Both of them...had promised one another never to do this. Both of them had looked into one another's eyes and promised this--and she had broken it. She couldn't be trusted.

Everything I ever did, heaven knows I'm sorry

I was too young to see you were always there for me

And my curiousity got the better of me

Baby take it easy on me.

How could she venture out? How could she go astray? How could she hurt him like so? Had she been curious? Had she wanted to test the waters? Sure, she had always wondered how it would be to be with another man...but, she never thought she'd feel like this. She never thought that it'd hurt this bad. Could he not see that she, too, was hurting? She knew it wasn't as great as his pain, but...dammit it was killing her. She couldn't take it. She couldn't take this. is stares wasn't making it any easier, either. Why didn't he just say anything?

Anything from A to Z, tell me what you want to be

I open my heart to thee, you are my priority

Can't you see you punished me more than enough already?

Baby take it easy on me.

She didn't care what it was. She just wanted him to say something. The silence was enough to spiral her into a depression. If he remained that way, she'd only think the worst. If he remained silent, she'd only think that he didn't want to be with her. Is there no way he'd forgive her? Did he want her to stay? Did he want her to go?

She stared at him for a second before finally speaking up.

"Please...just say somethin--"

"I can't do this anymore. We're done." He said flatly before pushing the chair back and standing to his feet.

She gasped as she looked up at him. W-what was he saying?

"Baby--"

"Don't call me that. You have no right to do so any longer. I want your things out of here. We're finished." With that, he turned and walked out of the room making sure he slammed the door in the process.

Her heart shattered to a thousand pieces as she looked back down into her lap messing with her fingers. Her tears continued to fall, staining her pure white dress. So this was it? They were through? He wouldn't forgive her? Did he need time? Was he trying to get back at her?

Come back, baby come back to me

Come back, I'll be everything you need

Come back, baby come back to me

Come back, boy you're one in a million.

She wiped her eyes. She had sat there long enough. She stood to her feet and ran her fingers through her short hair in frustration. She looked at the door he had just walked out of and squeezed her eyes shut.

"Please...come back to me," She whispered to herself, somewhat wishing that he'd hear her, somewhat wishing that he'd forgive her and come back, but, she knew that what they had was now over.

She had been the one to ruin things.

**Just a random idea that had popped into my head**
