Chapter 10

When I open my locker a sheet of paper falls out. I pick it up and read it, wondering how whoever it was managed to get it inside.

You have too many guys. Which of them is a fake?

I read the message again. What? Too many guys? What is this heartbreaker person talking about? Then it hits me. I almost forgot that I had signed up for " Love Game." With Leo occupying my time I nearly forgot it. Too many guys, huh. In the " Love Game" if I remember correctly there is only supposed to be five participants. I think for a minute. Who are the possible participants? There's Dread, Laurence, Leo-- seriously I hope he isn't one, Cline--not him too, the emo/goth kid--who's name I don't know, and... that new kid, Fleano. They are all the guys I have met so far. If I'm betting for a fake, I hope it's Leo. He is not going to become my future boyfriend. I refuse.

" What is this supposed to be?" Leo yells. I jump, startled. He stalks down the hallway. In his fist is a crumpled piece of paper. He slams me against my locker. I cry out in pain as my back hits the metal locker. " Did you do this?" he shouts in my face. I wince, " What are you talking about?" He holds the fist with the paper up. " How did you find out?" I stare at him. Has he gone crazy? Wait, he is crazy. " I really have no idea," I reply. I hold up the message I recieved, " Look, I got one too. From the Heartbreaker."

Leo grabs the paper and reads it, " Heartbreaker," he growls. Without a second glance at me he leaves. I watch him go. What in the world is wrong with him? Whatever his paper said it didn't say the samething as mines.

" Morning Melina!" Dread exclaims. I smile at the two. Laurence blushes. I wonder. Is it possible that both of them were also participating in the " Love Game." The info had said they'd be good looking guys. If I look carefully they are both pretty handsome. " What? Is there something on my face?" Dread asks. I blush, embarassed to have been caught staring. " N-nothing..." should I ask? It's the only way to know.

" Umm...how should I say this..." they both wait attentively. " W-what is it?" asks Laurence. I scan the classroom to make sure no one is listening. I lean foward, " Don't laugh at me...actually I'm participating in the ' Love Game'. I was wondering... are you guys participating too?" Dread glances at Laurence. Laurence adjusts his glasses, " Uh..."

I turn red. I can't believe I actually said it. How could I be so stupid. Of course they're not. I gasp. Dread gets down on one knee and takes my right hand. Everyone in class stares. Laurence bows to me, taking my left hand. They both kiss my hand. I stare, blushing like mad, and petrified. Dread gives me a cheerful grin, " Took you long enough." Laurence blushes pink, " Y-you found m-me."
