I slump down in embarassment. Now everyone in class was staring at me. After a shocking display all anyone could talk about was me. Why did I have to ask them? I should have asked them afterschool. Well, looking on the bright side I now knew that they were both in the "Love Game".
By lunchtime the whole school knew about it. I try to act like it didn't bother me as people gossiped. As expected as soon as Leo saw me he made me sit with him and his friends. I notice that Cline is sitting by himself. Leo glares at Fleano. It was becoming a common thing to see him following Angel around. Leo, obviously unhappy to have his toy being touched by another, sneers at them. " What's this Scar? Did you finally get a boyfriend? What does he like about you? Well, it's not your face, must be your other assests."
I glare at Leo, " That was uncalled for." Angel pulls on her hood, unable to say anything. Instead Fleano flares. " I do not like Angel for her assests!" Leo and his friends laugh. I try not to roll my eyes. Why am I still sitting here with them? Fleano suddenly grabs Angel's hand. " I like Angel for being Angel. If you will let me I'm going to ask her to be my girlfriend."
Everyone at the table freezes. Leo raises a brow, " Why are you asking me?" In reply Fleano answers, " You're Angel's father, right?" Leo laughs his friends following suit. " Are you stupid? Do I look like I'm her father?" I try not to smirk. I so got what Fleano meant. Fleano shakes his head," No, but you act like you are. You are always trying to control Angel." He pulls Angel up, making her stand. The whole time Angel stares hard at the ground. " You just admitted that you are not Angel's father," Fleano tells Leo. " Angel is not your's to control. I'm taking her away from here." With that he drags a shocked Angel off.
I smile, secretly supporting Fleano. I stand up, " That was nice. I think it's about time I leave." Leo abruptly stands up knocking his chair over. It clatters loudly. The whole cafeteria becomes quiet. " Who said you could leave?" Leo hisses. I give him a cool stare, " No one." I walk away, down the cafeteria aisle heading for the door. I pass Dread and Laurence who give me a questioning look.
Suddenly I feel pain in my head as I'm jerked back by my hair. I cry out in pain, knowing who it is. " Let go!" Leo smiles cruelly. " Oh, does this hurt?" I glare daggers at him. He begins to pull my hair again, dragging me slowly back to the table. I struggle to get free, but Leo has a really strong grip. Dread steps foward, " Hey---"
Cline clenches Leo's wrist. " I was just going to wait and see what you would do, but I couldn't sit still any longer." Leo's glare is full of hate. " Mind your own business Cline. She's my girlfriend." With one strong yank Cline frees my hair from Leo's grip. I rub my aching scalp. Leo kicks an empty chair, startling everyone. " Screw you Cline. What's today supposed to be? Everyone-gets-on-my-nerves-day?" Cline grins at Leo, but his smile lacked warmth. " I don't think you understand the situation Leo."
Leo laughs, " No, I think you're the one who doesn't understand what's going on Cline. She's my girlfriend," jabbing a finger at me. Cline is unfazed. He places a hand on my head and musses my hair. " She may be your girlfriend, but I'm going to marry her." For the first time he looks at me, his green eyes piercing. " Right, Princess?" I stare back in shock, a faint memory coming back. Cline turns to Leo. He sticks out a tongue and gives a smug grin. " You lose."
