A A A A

Alexis plops down on the table and lays her head on the table. She groans and her three friends look at each other having no clue what happened to their friend.

"Having boy troubles?" Sophia asks.

"Oh come on Sophia, Alex hasn't had boy anything since she was a sophomore in high school," Hana teases.

Alexis looks at her friends, "That's exactly it! No one is interested in me. I just want to experience love, relationships, everything!" Alexis throws her hands in the air. "I want to experience how to feel to be in a relationship," Alexis's eyes twinkle thinking about all those lovey dovey scenarios she's thought of.

"Oh, shush. I've counted around ten guys who has confessed to you ever since I've known you, that's in a course of two years. Guys do take interest in you, it's you who don't. You've shot them down without a second thouht," Chrystal says.

Alexis purses her lips, "I have a certain taste in them, okay."

"Oh, yeah, like that guy from your high school you helplessly stalked," Hana laughs.

"I did not!" Alexis defends herself, "I merely knew his routes to his classes and took the same ones when I can." Hana nods while smiling, saying that Alexis only proved her point. "Okay, so what. I kind of did stalk him but-" Alexis was in the middle of saying before Chrystal cuts her off.

"Kind of? Are you sure about that? You knew the guy's class schedules every year by having one of your yearbook staff friends look him up in the attendance list. If not, you tried to follow him to his classes as best you could. You were basically obsessed with the guy."

"I was not! I knew his class schedules, but, that's it," Alexis defends herself.

"Samantha has told me all about it. How you would smile a lot whenever you looked at him when he sat in his table. When you chaned your walking routes during nutrition just so you can pass his table to get like a five second glance of him. Or when you had classes with him you would do your best to sit near him and your voice would get a hundred times louder and you would laugh a hundred times more just for him to notice you. Even those times you've tried to make conversation by planning it out days before and going over it a period before. Also, those times when you would take candid," she made air quotes, "pictures of him. And, that time you almost ripped Samantha's hands just so you can correct his paper and tell him that he "had a nice name," only for him to not hear it. Yeah, kind of."

"Damn, Alex, didn't know you were that obsessive. I mean, I knew you liked that guy from the beginning of high school till he left, but I didn't know you did all that. How cute would the guy be for you to do all those things?" Hana couldn't stop laughing.

"Oh, that wasn't even all of it, that was her freshman year," Chrystal laughs along.

"Come on, I saw the guy in the picture, he's attractive," Sophia tries to back her friend up.

"You still have a picture?!" Hana and Chrystal yells.

"My cue to go, bye," Alexis dodged her friends and got to her class.

Brooklyn sat with his friend in a table near Alexis's table. Ever since he saw her in the bakery, he took interest in her but never made a move. He thought she was cute how she was shocked to see him and went all giggly and everything. When he saw her in the hallways of the campus he took it as a sign to get her to know better. Weeks later, still no move. The only interaction they get is Brooklyn saying "Double chocolate," Alexis handing it to him and Brooklyn paying cash just so when he hands her the money, his hand would linger longer than it should.

"Come on dude, just say hi, say something beside double chocolate!" Andrew says frustrated of his friend.

They were close enough to eavesdrop in their conversation.

"Okay, okay, you and her are the same. I mean she doesn't make a move, she only followed him around. You never made a move, you only followed her. Oh, I love how history repeats itself," Andrew comments.

Brooklyn rolls his eyes and walked away from his table. Andrew stayed behind to eavesdrop more and left when Alexis got up. Andrew ran after Brooklyn and pulled him to the nearest table.

"Okay, so my expertise in eavesdropping came in handy today, like every other day, and I learned new things about Alexis," Andrew boasts.

Brooklyn leans in interested.

"Oh, now you want to listen? Won't you love to just walk away from me again. let history repeat itself."

"Just shut up and tell me."

"Okay, okay. So Alexis had a crush on this guy in her high school. And I mean she stalked the guy. Not just watch him during lunch, she watched him walking during passing and during class. Okay, aside from Alexis being a total creep, she had, maybe still have, major things on this dude. I heard she only stopped when he left? I don't know if that's left like, move to different schools left, or graduated left. But bottom line, she may not be over this guy.  I mean she basically dedicated her free time in high school on this guy having an unrequited love. Wait, no, I'm actually not sure if it was one sided or something happened," Andrew quickly says without a breath.

"So, you went on and on just to tell me Alexis had a major crush on a guy in her high school? Shocker," Brooklyn says, no longer interested.

"No, no, you're missing the point. I don't think you should go for her. I mean consider my advice here. You rethinking your crush might let you dodge a bullet from miles away," Andrew explains.

Brooklyn hums and pretends to think, "I thought about it again and no, I will not stop. Here how about this, I'll dodge that bullet you're talking about when it gets close enough for me to tell if it is a bullet or just bull shit coming from your mouth," Brooklyn reciprocates.

Nice job! I do enjoy romance and this story is doing a pretty decent job of conveying it. :)
