anzacs (lest we forget) - oneshot original drabble random inspiration writing dream - chapter image

A A A A

With steels of courage and almighty bravery,

Deeds forever remembered and praiseworthy,

We were the soldiers who sacrificed our lives

And against the odds, some of us survived

We brought pride to our nation

To some we are worthy of admiration

We fought, killed, bled

And eventually, at some stage, we fled

We fled from our mates, buried underground

We took them in when injured on the battleground

Our blood runs where we last stood

Where we showed our brotherhood

We are the Anzacs

Celebrated by the landmass

We are the soldiers who died for our home

Keeping our loved ones safe from the unknown

Lest we forget. We will always remember the Anzacs.

Anzac Day - 25th April
