A A A A

He didn't know how it happened.

It started out as working over time, trying to finish all the paper work after working cases. Strauss' death left a big hole in his team and he was trying to do the best he can to fill it up. What he didn't notice was his secretary that had always stayed as long as he has, she worked diligently at her desk as much as he is at his. She would doze off a little every now and then, but always pull away from her drowsiness, it was a miracle that she wasn't making mistakes in the documents she was typing. She peeked over her shoulder to see how her boss was doing, upon seeing the way he frowns at the paperwork on his desk, she decided to make some of her favorite tea for him that had always helped her when she was stressed out.

After spending a few minutes in the little dining area, she carried the cup of tea to his office and knocked on his door. When he gave no response (like many times when he was absorbed in his paperwork) she entered the room quietly and walked over to him before placing the cup of tea near the corner of his desk. She exited his office as quiet as when she entered and resumed the work she had at her own desk that was right in front of his room.

He was so absorbed in his paper work that he hadn't notice the cup of freshly brewed tea near the corner of his desk, until he yawned and it took his attention off the papers. He bought the cup up to his lips and inhaled the sweet scent of chamomile, just the scent was enough to help him ease some stress. Aaron sat the cup down and made his way out of the office, "Ella?" he stopped her in her tracks, as she was about to head home. "Is everything alright?" she was surprised that he noticed she was leaving, let alone call for her. "Thanks for the tea, it really helps," those once present frown lines were now softer. "Anytime Aaron, don't work so late," she smiled before making her way to the elevators.

They had numerous nights like this, but tonight he felt much better then he had in days, she was his saving grace and he was too blind to notice just how much he had already fallen for her.
