Leaving the memories behind

Being a 25 year old college graduate with a quite impressive degree in engineering,organising your lovelife may be a problem for you. Studying almost everyday and going through exams and a new semester and doing it all over again. Carl,the guy you've met since high school and has been your boyfriend for 10 years now. Well we had our ups and downs too . But no matter what we go through,we manage to get back together one way or another. 

 

But one day,you just couldn't take anymore of it. You're confused of what you're couldn't bare anymore but it seemed so out of your reach. Carl being a great boyfriend and all started to driff away. He's being busy with classes and stuff. Even before,he usually spends atleast 10 minutes of his busy college life to call me but now it's different. 

"Maybe you're overthinking Alice . You know he hates you overthinking so much" said Sya my college roomate . She knows a lot of my on and off relationship with Carl and mostly everything that happens in my life.

"Overthinking or not,he's acting differently. I can't take it anymore . " 

Being a 25 year old college student still studying software engineering and with a really amazing girlfriend who's overly protective could be very hard . Me and Alice has been dating for 10 years . That's pretty long right but for us,time just flies too fast for us . She's dne with her nuclear engineering degree and has been planning to move to the capital for a job there but to me it's too risky for her because she's too fragile at heart. You might see as a kickass girl but she's not always strong. 

"Alice ! Where are you going ?! "

"Away from you !"

When she said that, I was aware that she's sure of it. I need to bring her back nomatter what . I called her bestfriend Sya and Ally. With the help of my pal,Seds. All of us drove to a place, I was sure Alice was heading. The airport. Then Sya told me that she booked a flight to Washington a few days ago but she wasn't sure of the date of boarding. 

Holding a picture of us in my hands gives me the hope of getting her back . I could'nt lose her. She's everything . I know it's my fault for acting differently. I just wanted some time for myself . I did her wrong . And then I remembered she suffers from self loathing and goes through a mid counselling session . I closed my eyes and hoped for the best. 
 

We were finally there at the airport . All of us went in search for her in different places. I went with Sya as she was the only one who spent the last with Alice. 

"Where do you think she might be ?"

"I don't know"

A beep came from Carl's phone that usually rang for Alice. It was a message from Alice . 

"Meet me before 3.25 pm "

It's already 3.50 pm . And she couldn't be seen. Carl gave up and fell to the floor,dropping his phone along. Sya picked up his phone and looked at the message given by Alice. A deep breath came from Sya . 

"Carl,I'm sorry we just couldn't find her." 

"She's gone,Sya. I'll miss her . " tears came running down his pinkish cheeks. 

Seds and Ally came rushing to us while holding a piece of picture. It was a picture of Alice and Carl . On the back it wrote "Goodbye love ". 

"Where did you guys get this ? "asked Sya with confusion .

"At the barrista over there ."pointed Seds to a cafe near th international departure area . 

Carl stood up and wiped his tears . Realising it's time to be on his own . He took the picture from Sya and stared at it . Taking a deep breath and opened his eyes.

"I won't stop searching for her nomatter what " placing the picture in his pocket and walked to the parking lot along with Sya,Ally and Seds.

 

Looking down onto them and seeing how much they want to get her back just added the sadness to it. Alice was looking down onto them through the glass at the VIP lounge. Seeing Carl cry breaks her heart . She wanted to go down there and hug him but its no use . She's already a part of the army . 

"Miss Robinson,your flight is ready for you " said the lovely flight attendant.

"Welcome Washington" putting her shades on and grabbing her hand luggage while taking her last sip of the mocha she ordered .
