A A A A

The next night all the cards were busy with the usual routine. The King of Diamonds was arguing with his wife. “My jewel, listen to me. We need to get ALL the cards together, all the symbols. We need to gather so we can talk about the premonition. You know, we’ve heard that the Queen of Hearts also had the same vision.”
“I know, but that’s not the issue here.”
“It is! We’ll have to!”
“Why can’t they?”
“Maybe they aren’t as smart as we are, jewel.”
“Maybe so, we’ll have to clean up the mess and they will loath us, if we fail.”
“No they won’t, because it was every ones’ task from the start. It was foretold as a prophesy.”
“Why us?”
“We are debating it now, so why won’t we take the first step?”
“I don’t know. Why don’t we wait another night?”
“Why should we?”
“So I can sleep on it.”
“Jewel, we don’t have time.”
“Says who?”
“I do and I guess the premonitions too.”

The Queen of Spades was walking up and down the room. She was restless, but so were the others. What would they do? What would every card do? They all didn’t know a solution to the problem. The same premonitions were told by all the queens and still no one did something. No one lifted a finger, nor moved into the right direction. Her husband told her to stop, but she didn’t want to and didn’t listen to him. The King of Spades became irritated. “Darling, just stop.”
“I don’t want to.”
“It makes me irritated.”
“I don’t know what we have to do.”
“Me neither.”
“What will happen if we all came together again?”
“What are you talking about?”
“Why don’t we take the step and let all the symbols come together again.”
“What do you mean by again?”
“Well, we had a period in which we all chatted together and partied together.”
“I don’t remember any of that.”
“The most don’t. And don’t get me wrong! I can’t remember clearly. I just know we once did.”
“Darling, why do we have to take the step?”
“No one else is doing it.”
“Someone else is probably planning to do so.”
“Why should we wait?”
“I don’t want to fail! It will ruin my reputation.”
“Which reputation?”
“The reputation of a respected king.”
“My darling king, the other cards don’t know about that reputation, so you’ll be fine.”

Eventually the King of Clubs came forth in the middle of the room and asked every cards attention. The other symbols were astonished tough relieved at the same time. He began to speak: “Fellow cards, you all know this was bound to happen. And we all knew the day would come. Well, the day has come now. The day has come, because it’s an urgent situation and we all need to talk about it together. We must gather around a table, together. We must talk about the queens’ visions. We must share what we think about the subject. And we must decide together what we will do about it. We all must calculate the situation. We must decide what will happen, together.”
