CLANG. The soda can pops out of the vending machine in it's little slit in the bottom. I pick it up and open the metal that covers the hole. I take a sip of the drink, feeling the gas bubble in my mouth creating a pleasant frizzy sensation. I adjust my jacket hood which was beginning to fall off. Suddenly, I hear the school bell ring. I shove the can in my jacket pocket, covering it with my hands.

Oh, and I forgot to tell you. My name is Rin. Kagamine Rin.

I'm usually classified in the wallflower category. If anyone ever mentions my name... well, they wouldn't mention it anyways. I pass by a group of girls who were endlessly giggling while looking at me. I knew them. They were what I call "The Blue" since they were led by the snobbish, mean Hatsune Miku.

How I hate it when I see them.

How I hate it even more when they see me.

Thanks to my incredible walking skills, I walk further than them, heading for physical education. I jump into the lockers, changing my hoodies and denim jeans to a gym shirt and shorts. The sweat of the previous students who used the lockers still lingered, bad luck for my nose. I go to the gym, squinting at the sunlight that passed through the windows.

I drink from my water bottle and eat a spare bun I got stole from the cafeteria. My friend, Gumi, sits beside me on the benches. "Hey there, sunny!" she giggles as she munches on a chocolate bar. I smile and look at her. Gumi has this face that reminds me of a green apple. Her shiny green short hair, cute face, there's nothing that wasn't cute from her. "You like volleyball?" I ask. She widens her eyes and quickly shakes her head. I chuckle.

"You wanna cut class?" I ask her again. For me, there's nothing wrong in skipping a class or two. It's not like I'm going to get caught. Gumi smirks and nods furiously, clearly agreeing with my suggestion.

We sneak out, trying to avoid the teacher's piercing gaze. We finally got out from the double doors. All was left was to go hang out and have fun. I held her hand like how best friends do and laugh together as we reach the arcade. Nowadays, we had those huge holograms where we can control our character with just one action. Mostly guys hang out here but we also like to live a dangerous life.

I look around. Some people were playing a modernized version of Minecraft, with some new mobs like robots and cyborgs. There were even newer games and classical games from our ancestors' time, the 20th century. Gumi tugs my sleeve and begs to play at the Pac-Man station, a rusty old machine hidden deep in the cobwebs in the corner of the arcade, abandoned to oblivion.

I don't know how and why she likes Pac Man so much. Nobody ever plays that game anymore. I leave her at the Pac Man station where she was furiously moving the toggle button and cursing everytime she lost a level.

I chuckle. She is so cute. When I look around to find a game I like, I suddenly found hell on earth.

It appears that The Blue has also cut class, seeing as they were still wearing the gym attire similar to mine and Gumi's, except that they looked more fashionable on them. Miku looks around as if she was the queen of the whole arcade. I frantically join Gumi in the Pac Man station, which was dark enough to hide the both of us.

They got closer towards us. Closer, closer. And then they turn the other way. I give a sigh of relief. Just as I thought they were leaving, one of her croonies caught me by the neck, nearly choking me down. The girl that was choking me was who I called Squid Girl since I think she talks like a squid.

"Well, well, who have we got here?" Hatsune Miku steps out between her two friends. She stares at me as though I was some kind of disoriented creature or something. She whispers at Squid Girl and stifles a laugh. Her other friend, Hachune Miku, the short, fat one laughs loudly in my face.

I gulp down my fear. I let her continue her taunts. "Kagamine Rin..." Miku says softly, a smirk on her face. The hairs on my back straightening. I have never heard anyone say my full name. It brings me the chills.

I couldn't bear it down anymore. I punch her face. You heard it right. I punch her face. Miku gasps, touching the bruise on her cheek, widening her eyes. She screams. That felt good. "You... You'll pay for this!" Miku trembles, fake tears running down her eyes. Squid Girl and Hachune glares at me, comforting Miku and leaving the arcade.

Gumi seems to not have noticed any of this. She turns around, a broad smile on her face. "What did I miss?" she asks. Well, you missed a lot.
