Chapter I

"The Water benders are so arrogant! Just because they have the abilities to heal, they act as if they are all that!"

"Have you heard? The Air benders were the ones who caused trouble last night. Playing their foolish games again like always"

"I don't understand with the Earth benders! What's their point of existing! They always cause earthquakes and problems!" 

 

"They are so troublesome! Don't you agree fire lord?" the prime minister asked 

"Yes. It is" Fire Lord Aro nodded "Let's just be glad we don't share the same land with them. I can't imagine life with those filthy benders" he slightly shook his head. It was the annual monthly meeting of the powerful leaders in the fire nation.

"The north daughter of the Water land is getting married with the south just so they can build a bond, they say" one of the men said "The girl is 16! They are immoral! They are doing that for fame!" the duke scoffed "The princess of theirs aren't that good either. I don't get how she is the crown princess" 

"She's the only child. The mother can't give birth to another child it seems. Pity" the regent laughed at the fact "We feel save knowing our princess isn't like that. She's a lovely educated lady that could take over the nation anytime and we can rest assured if she takes the throne" the general of the king's army nodded proudly  "Have you given a thought about your heir or heiress my lord?" one of the chief asked

"Of course I have! Among my children, my youngest daughter is the most suitable one. Even though I have three other sons but I could be in peace if its my youngest who took after the throne" the fire lord nodded with a proud fatherly smile "All of your children are brilliant my lord. We can rest in peace if any of them take the throne" a man exclaimed

"The eldest, Prince Sou is charming and responsible. The second, Prince Akira is very active and friendly. Princess Eru is lovely and kind. The older of the twins, Prince Kei who is smart and humble and of course the youngest and the younger twin Princess Rin..is just..  Do I have to say more?" the prime minister laughed "I agree with you my lord. Princess Rin is the most fit for the throne than any of her siblings" the right hand man nodded

"Even though its a pity to the princes. But I vote for the younger princess as well" the duke nodded followed by the rest "Seeing everyone agreed to my youngest, once she turn the age of 17, She will be taking after my throne" the fire lord said 

"Prince Kei's and Princess Rin's birthday is not far. It seems like the corronation day is coming soon" the general said and the men laughed

"Your highness, tea will be served shortly" the maid said "Alright. I'll be down soon" Rin nodded as the maid left her room

She stared out of the window as she sighed *I wonder when I could get out of here.. Being stuck here..* she sighed as she leaned against the window "I wish I could see the outside world. Beyond our nation.. Where they say the 'good for nothing benders' lives" she chuckled "Are they that bad?" she furrowed her eyebrows

"Who's that bad?" a woman's voice spoke

Rin turned around as she greeted the middle aged woman "Mother. I didn't hear you coming" she straighten up her poisture as she bowed down "I knocked but I guess you didn't hear me" Queen Misa chuckled as she walked towards her daughter "Back to my question.. Who's that bad?" she asked

"No one particular. It's nothing mother" Rin shook her head "Really?" Queen Misa pushed a stray hair out from her daughter's face "Well then, shall we go for tea? Your father and your siblings are waiting" she said "Yes mother" Rin nodded "Well come now" The both of them walked towards the door

Rin glanced back at the window for a mere second before facing to the front as she walked away

"I have an announcement to make" Fire Lord Aro cleared his throat "What is it father?" Sou asked as the rest watched him "We have decided the one to take after the throne" Fire Lord Aro exclaimed

"Already father?" Eru asked "Who is it?" Akira asked while the others watched in anxiety. Even though Kei and Rin was quiet, their minds went blank as they stared at their older siblings 

"Our one and only.." Fire Lord Aro smiled at Rin who took a sip of her tea "The youngest, Rin"

 

A teacup broke as it was dropped to the ground

 

"Pardon?" Rin widened her eyes
