L.A NOIRE

It's late, my partner and I are out investigating a possible homicide. The neighbour heard screams and gunshots, the whole deal.

And as such we're creeping though an empty hallway, vests on and guns drawn. It could be nothing, but in the police business you can never be too careful.

We round a corner to see yet another dim hallway with a single light flickering at the end.

"32B, it should be right on our left hand side, cover me."

I nod at my partner who does a dramatic somersault down the corridor . I quickly barrel roll after him and sidle up on the opposite side of the door.

"Alright Phelps, how do we proceed?" I whisper, crouching lower than I ever have.

"We listen," My partner replies, pressing an ear against the chipped red paint of the door.

We sit in silence until finally his eyes flick open, the colour drained from his face.

He slowly leans back from the door, staring at it in abject horror.

I sidle up beside him, placing a hand on his cheek, " Phelps? Detective! What did you hear?"

He turns his head slowly, looking me dead in the eyes, "Someone taking a dump."
