Be a human for a day

 

 

 

Once upon a time there was a monster girl called Moon flower. There exists some numbers of Moon flowers in the world but she is different from the others. She wish to try out how it is to be human, even just for one day. Life is not fun at the place where she live, in the fourth level of the Payon cave.

 

Everyday was cold and dark in her home area. She could not stand it anymore till this very time. She burns with determination than ever before. She will go out of this boring place now. Moonie begins to go from her home but realised one thing, her appearance. She still looked like a monster humans defeats when they could. The girl thinks over this and studies herself. She has her foxhead on her head as a hat, fox hands as glows and foxfeet as shoes. A fox tail at her back as a real fox and a big bell hanging at the end of a wooden stick. Everything she wears are yellow.

 

Moonie has to change herself if she wants to avoid trouble. First of all, humans are not naked which she is. If she could take on some clothes then it would be easy to mistake her for being a human. The female goes to look for some leftover clothing in the ruins in Payon cave. She searched but only found clothes for munaks and bon guns. After some hard searching she found a pair of red shorts and a red shirt. It made her too look even cuter than before. Red matched so good to her red and sparkling eyes. But she must to do something about her yellow parts to fit in to her new clothes.

 

The half-human gather her magic powers and focus it in her eyes. She then transform that amount of power she had to be of the fire property. Moonie concentrates with all her might and look right on her yellow things. She blinked once at them and the yellow things changed to red. With that done she really is like a little red fox girl. The lass jumps up and down happily with her tail swinging widely. There is also some colour of pink on her checks from the happiness of turning her things to red. Now she is ready to go out of the cave. No one could see her as a monster any more. Even if she still wears some weird looking things as her foxhat and her real tail, those wouldn’t cause any trouble.

 

She could just say that she had made them and coloured them to red and that her tail was made by magic or something. Humans looked strange in the world of Midgard nowadays anyway. One could see people wearing panda heads as hats, flowers as hats and more. Moonie run trough the cave and is soon out of the exit on the outside. She is now on open ground many miles above her real home. It is dark here too, it is still evening. She sighs. This wasn’t exactly what she had been waiting for, to see more darkness. The maiden walk slowly to the village nearby to see some humans. The sun start to rise as she get closer to the village.

 

When she arrived to the town it was already early morning. She see some merchants starting to pack up their things for the upcoming market. They have different items and things to sell, some had potions others had food and so on. Observing the merchants bored her so she continue on. The female continue to walk through the forest to the capital, Prontera. As she walked through the forest she view all the great bamboo trees that are growing in nice lines. They are all green and healthy, growing as it were no end to them. Smiling warmly to the plants and then she turn her focus on the way again.

 

After what she thought was forever, she comes to the Prontera field. Standing on a hill, Moonie can see everything in front of her. Prontera is huge and overwhelming. It almost seems like it is limitless in size. She couldn’t wait no longer so she teleport herself to a dead end in the main city. No one is near and she can sneak out of the dead end without suspicions. What should she do now? The lady want to see and act like a human, but isn’t sure how to do that. The tiny woman observes a lot of people walking around on the big stone roads. They are walking peacefully with no direct goal. She mimic them and start to walk around.

 

Moonie studies what she can see and every detail she think are human behaviour. Some people are talking, some are arguing about different things and others are brawling on the streets. The monster still don't comprehend how she should act and made her a little confused. The half-human walked around the whole city and feel weird when standing around the church. There is something she don't like with it. Maybe it is that she is a demon and that the church is holy.

 

Moonie don't feel like going in to the church so she goes on and sense around so no priest is nearby. Priests aren't her favourite kind of people and they could became aggressive if they saw her. She has to ask someone what is very common behaviour for a human. The female let her eyes go around as she travel to find someone to ask. After some time she find a little girl selling flowers. Moonie approach her and got her attention by patting the fella lightly on the shoulder.

 

• May I ask you something?

• Yea sure, the little girl said.

• What’s a very common way to act like a human? The little girl think about her question.

• Easy, just be yourself.

• ……Ok.

 

The monster was quite taken aback by the girl's reply. Just be yourself, which means that she could be as she usually was. She is unsure what to do now. All this exploring today for this short answer.

While Moonie ponder about this the little girl tag her shorts. Moonie look at her and see a hint of what the girl is seeking. The flower girl asks if Moonie could help her selling flowers.

 

The half-human don't have anything else to do so she tell her that she would love to help out. The flower girl get very happy from hearing this and jumps up and down very energetically. Moonie ask her name as a good manner. The flower girl's name is Mikan. The monster tell her that her own name is Moonie.

With that cleared they start to prepare the flowers into different forms. In order to sell flowers easier, it is necessary to make them to appear more attractive. They make flower sets, rings, baskets and ropes. A lot of different flowers are used in the making process. Moonie is surprised by the big amount of different visually appealing plants.

 

There are red, blue, white and a lot of other types in various colours. Later they finished up with making use of all the flowers in the stand to look more interesting than just some flowers in a packet. Moonie had made one single colour in a bucket, mixed colours of 2 or more and some rainbow sets of flowers. Mikan observed the half-human's results and is filled with delight. She says that Moonie had done pretty good. The female nods as an answer. Mikan begin to shout out that the merchandise can be bought to the passing people. Moonie does the same and try to keep up with her, even though she is less experienced in the art of attracting customers. But luckily enough they didn’t have to shout out to people for long.

 

They soon pull in people to the stand. Some have heard that flowers were sold and some saw that there are cute looking girls. Customers gathers and they quickly got busy in a lot of work. They sold a lot of their wares in no time. They didn’t need to show the types of flowers they had, people just bought them without any discrimination. The dusk comes and the sun is trailing down on its way through the horizon. All the plants are sold out and both the girls are exhausted. They are breathing pretty hard but they have smiles on their lips.

 

• All the flowers are sold out! Thank you for the help.

• No problem. It was pretty fun.

• Yes it was.

 

They take a look around. It's now really messy at the stand. Some flowers lies on the ground and the shelves were in disorder. They decide to clean up. After they had cleaned up Mikan ask:

 

• You have to go now?

• So it seems.

• We’ll meet again right?

• Yes we will.

• See you then.

• Yea bye.

 

Moonie waves with her hand to her newly found friend and slowly walk away. She moves gently out of town to no place in particular. She isn't interested in going home so she will get some sleep and continue her journey the next day. The creature make herself comfortable against a tree and close her eyes, and is soon asleep.
