First Day

YOOTA's POV

"Good luck, darling" said Mom. I gave her a smile "Yes mom.." then i stepped out from the car as my mom drove away.

I sighed.. another school, another life.. maybe. Huft.. I walked in.

My name is Shin Yoo Ta. Age, 17. I'm half korean and half american. I was born in Seoul but moved to New York 11 years later. And 3 days ago, My family and i just moved back to Seoul. Yeah.. you know.. because of my Father's business stuff..

It's not that i'm not happy i got in my hometown. I'm just.. nervous. I'm staying in New York for 5 years so my Korean is a little bad. I'm afraid i'll say something wrong or stuff.. Ugh.. but i couldn't do anything.. i just have to move on..

"Ugh!"

"Oh, i'm so sorry!" I immediately bowed. Because i'm too nervous. I didn't watch where i going and accidentaly hit someone. I looked at the person i hit. Oh, it's a boy. Looks like he's a senior. "Aniyo.. nan gwaenchana" he said. Oh no, he speaks korean. "A-ah.. okay.."

"Wait.. aren't you the new student?" But suddenly he speaks english. Oh, he can speak english.. that's a relief! "Y-yeah.. i am.. how do you know?" i replied. He chuckled. "Your accent is different, you know?" I laughed fakely. "Ah.. is that so?" He nodded.

"You're lucky, then. Cause we're in the same class. I'm Park Jin Woo. Please call me JinWoo" the guy introduced himself with a smile. "Ah.. i'm Shin Yoo Ta.. please call me Yoota." I said. "Well, Yoota.. welcome to Jisang High" He gave him his hand and we shake hand

"So,you're from New York right?" ask Jin Woo as we walked together to teacher's room "yeah.. Um,it's really a relief that i met you, Jin Woo. My korean are still bad.. and i still need to practice more.." "Ooh.. geurae.. i can help you, then." "Really?" Jinwoo nodded.

"Yeah. If you confused on korean words and don't know what it mean i'll translate it for you. And i'll teach you how to speak korean. So you'll be able to speak korean again"

"Waah.. thank you, Jinwoo!" I said happily. Yeah.. i'm so relieved. Not a bad start afterall.

I had a nice chat while walking with Jin Woo, until I realized that we already in front of teacher's room "so that's it,you already know our school rules right?" He asked. "yeah,my mom told me" i gave him a smile. "okay then,go get your schedule and lesson books.. You'll get the school map,so i'll wait in our class,okay?" said Jin Woo

"yep! Thank you Jin Woo-ah,i'm really glad i met you" i gave him smile "Arraseo, annyeong Yoota-ah!" He said as he walked away. "Ne.." Then i opened the room door "can i help you?" asked a teacher in korean. "uh.. C-can't i.. Jung Seongsaenim..." i said in a really bad Korean

"oh! You're the new student from New York! Wait here,i'll call her" she said and walks to a young teacher who's sits on her table, she talked with the young teacher for a while and then she came up to me with the teacher. "this is the new student, i'll go now" she went back to her table

"so, welcome to Jisang school. what's your name dear?" asked Jung Seongsaenim in perfect english. Huft.. thank god. "Shin Yoo Ta, nice to meet you, ma'am" i said as i bowed to her

The young teacher smiled, "nice to meet you too, Yoota-ssi. I'm Jung Ha Na. And I'll be your homeroom teacher" "Ah.. n-ne.." i said awkwardly. "wait here for a while. i'll get your school map,schedule and books" she walked to her desk again.

"here" she gave me a school map, a piece of schedule and some lesson books. "it's yours now. If there's something you don't understand. You can ask me, okay?" "Ne.. thank you Mrs.Jung!" I said as i put the books inside my bag. "Ok, let's go then.."

"wait here,i'll call you later" she said as entered a class that have a number on the window '1-3'. I can hear noises inside that class. "okay class!" shouted Mrs.Jung in Korean. the students get silent and immediately get back to their seat.

"there's new student in our class, and i want you to treat her nicely. make her feel welcome." "Yes, seonsaengnim!" "Miss Yoo Ta, please come in!" she called me in english. Yep, that's my que.. I took a deep breath and walked into the class,the other students murmured.

'why's that Mrs. Jung spoke in english?' 'she's from America?' 'her face is Korea!'

"Keep Silent!!" shout Mrs.Jung again. "you can introduce yourself with english,Yoo Ta" "um.. I-i'm Shin Yoo Ta from New York.. I was born in Seoul but after 11 years i go to New York,please help me on the way." I bowed.

"Thank you, Yoota. you can sit beside Jin Woo and we'll start the lesson." "yes,ma'am" i walked to a chair beside Jin Woo and sit there "we meet again,Yoo Ta" he smiled

"um... What's the lesson now?" I said as i opened my bag. He chuckled. "I thought you got your schedule, Yoota. And you're lucky,it's English now" "ah! I forgot! Hehe.. Sorry,Jin Woo-ah!" i grinned as i put my english book on table "open your book page 24!" said Mrs.Jung.
