Birth - crossover rwby - main story image

A A A A

Screams reverberated through the hallways of the hospital from one room. Their owner couldn't stand the pain of childbirth, and she grew weaker with each passing minute.

Soon, though, the screams of a baby joined hers, and the new mother smiled at the little girl. The happiness was short lived, though, as her body began to work on its own, pushing out the sencond child, causing the newborn to cry even louder. The mother's multi-colored hair clung to her face due to the sweat and tears that wouldn't stop.

And then the second baby was screaming as well. The nurses showed her the two babies, one with bright pink eyes, the other with brown eyes. They were both beautiful to her. She reached out and touched the cheek of the closest one, the boy with brown eyes, and smiled at him when he made a noise.

"Neo, there's one more," her doctor told her. She shook her head, too weak to go through the pain anymore, but soon she pushing again with all her might. Her first two had been hard enough, but with so little energy left to her, Neo's third child had been the longest to birth. Once the white eyed girl was born, Neo passed out on the bed, too weak to stay awake any longer.

Four girls wandered around the hospital wing, looking for their friend but completely lost in the large building. The platinum blonde girl was complaining about their being lost, but the black and red haired girl insisted they were fine.

"We're going in the right direction," the younger girl insisted.

"Oh really? Then where is this room we're looking for?" the other asked.

"Um, well...it's close!"

"Weiss, stop being so mean," the other blonde huffed out, "It's not going to make us get there any faster."

"Hey," the black haired girl said, "is that Neo?" She pointed at the door to the unconcious new mother. The yellow blonde smirked and nodded.

"This must be the right wing then," she insisted, "Neo would only be in the wing for people with broken bones."

"That's not necessarily true," Wiess replied, "We can't just assume that."

"Let's go check on her," Ruby suggested and walked into the room, much to the protest of Weiss and Blake. Yang was more than happy to barge in and torment the much smaller girl.

Neo's eyes fluttered open and looked at the door, tilting her head, wondering why team RWBY was entering her room. She was also worried about that smug look on Yang's face, but she was still too weak to do anything.

"Hi, Neo," Ruby said and walked over to her, "What are you doing here?"

"Don't you know she doesn't talk?" Yang asked her angrily.

"Oh, right."

"Do you know where we are?" Neo asked quietly.

"What?" Yang asked, surprised she had finally heard Neo's voice. The smaller girl sat up, wincing at the pain and winded by the effort, and looked at them intently.

"This is the birthing ward." All four girls looked at her in shock. That's when a nurse knocked on the door and entered the room.

"Oh, Neo, you're awake," she said, "Would you like to see them?" She nodded and laid back in her bed, trying to get more comfortable. She did want to hold her newborns after all.

The nurse came back in a few minutes later with the triplets and pushed them over to her bed, helping her hold her oldest. Team RWBY still couldn't wrap their heads around what they were seeing until they were asked if they wanted to hold the babies as well. Neo shrugged, saying she didn't mind. Ruby jumped on the opportunity.

"Alright, make sure to support the neck," the nurse told her, placing the boy in her arms.

"So...you're a mom now?" Weiss asked her skeptically. Neo nodded, looking down at her pink eyed baby girl. She opened her eyes and made a noise at her, making the mother smile.

"I don't buy it," Yang replied, "I think you stole someone's kids and are just posing as having just had them." Neo rolled her eyes.

"Who's the father?" Blake asked, holding the white eyed girl carefully. Neo remained quiet, not wanting to upset the faunus girl. Their father was someone Blake no doubt still had emotional attachments to.

"Whore," Yang muttered.

"They're adorable!" Ruby said, changing the subject to something more light hearted. "I'm sure you'll raise them well!"

"Right, because being one of Roman's old lackeys is totally setting the right example," Weiss replied sarcastically. Neo was getting fed up and was ready to tell them to leave, but the boy in Ruby's arms did that for her once he started crying. They all left, all except, of course, their leader, who didn't know what to do.

"I didn't mean to upset him, I swear!" she insisted, looking ready to cry from the frustration she was feeling.

"It's alright," Neo replied and carefully placed her daughter in the bassinet before taking the boy from Ruby. The nurse came back in and told Neo it was time to feed him. Ruby seemed extremely curious and watched Neo rather intently as she fed the little boy. It was starting to make Neo uncomfortable.

"What's it like?" Ruby asked, "I mean, I know you just had them, but...what's it like being a mom?"

"Terrifying," Neo replied. She sighed and looked at her. "I've got nowhere to go. Their father disappeared one day and I can't find him. I think something happened on his last mission. I have no money and right now, my only option is Roman, and I don't want to go to him." Ruby looked at her sympathetically.

"Why don't you come to Patch?" she finally asked. "I'm sure there's someone there who'd be willing to help you out." Neo didn't know what to say, or how to react, so she just stared at her blankly.

"Really?" she finally asked.

"Sure! I'd even suggest you move in with us, but I know Yang isn't your biggest fan. Still, I'm pretty sure Dad wouldn't mind, if you have no other options."

"I'll...have to check it out. I can't live on my own on the streets with these three." Ruby nodded and stood up.

"I'm sure my team's waiting for me. Think about it." WIth that, she left the room.

Neo did think about it that night. She decided to check out the small island.
