Takao was nervous beyond recognition. He was about to make the biggest decision in his life. He was going to propose to his boyfriend of 2 years. He consulted his parents the night before and then he contacted his boyfriend's parents earlier in the day. Both parties agreed to the proposal in exchange that he did it properly and correctly. They also wanted him to prove his love to the only son of the Midorima family. So, he decided to propose to his boyfriend at the end of their Winter Cup match.

It was a lot easier said than done.

Shuutoku was losing badly in this match. Even with the help of their ace's Touch Shot and 3-pointers, they were still no match for the Seirin duo, Kagami and Kuroko. They were in the midst of the 2nd quarter and there was on 10 seconds remaining. Seirin had the lead by 10 points. They just needed two of the 3-pointers and then there would be a 4-point difference. There was only enough time for one 3-pointer though. As they walked off of the court, Takao ended up breaking under the pressure and getting on his knee and calling out to his boyfriend.

"SHIN-CHAN!!!!"

Everyone in the stadium, including the said person, stopped and looked at the raven on his knee. Midorima stopped and walked to his partner and was about to ask what was wrong before the boy grabbed his left hand and shoved his hand into his pocket.

"Shin-chan, no that's not right. Shintaro, I know that we've only been dating for 2 years now and I know that this is extremely sudden, but I just can't hold it in any longer. I was literally about to break under the pressure of it." He finally got the box out of his pants pocket and revealed it to his boyfriend.

"I really do love you so much. Even though in the beginning, I just like everyone else, hated the Generation of Miracles for destroying us in middle school and I wanted to get revenge. You were my primary target by the way. When I found out that we were gonna be in the same school and on the same team, I realized that I just wanted you to look at me and admire my skills."

He paused to look at his boyfriend and saw the tears that were falling down his face.

He went on.

"Then you noticed me after I forever bugged you in the hallway. Then we became best friends and I swallowed my pride and pedaled you around town in the rickshaw. During those times, it was then that I realized that I was falling for you. I eventually had the guts to confess to you, after being threatend by the other miracles. I was beyond happy when you said yes to being my boyfriend. Now, I kneel before you to ask you the most important question in my life: Will you marry me and become my wife?"

The crowd's breath hitched as they stared at the Shuutoku shooter, waiting for the answer. They heard a small sob and looked at the male before he responded.

"You IDIOT!!!! I've been waiting this entire time for you to ask me this question. Of course I'll marry you!!!"

The crowd and the teams jumped for joy and cheered for the couple. Takao smiled brightly and slipped the ring onto his fiancee's finger. The shooter stared at the ring before tugging his boyfriend up and pulling him into a loving kiss.

They broke from the kiss as Midorima remembered something and walked over to his bag. He fished out an envelope and gave it to his fiancee. Takao looked down at it in confusion.

"If you open it, then maybe you would know what it is. It would also make you stop looking at it like it's going to eat you."

Takao frowned and then opened the envelope. He took a second to process the thing in the envelope, then his eyes widened in realization before he looked at his fiancee while crying.

"You're not kidding are you?"

Midorima frowned and pinched his boyfriend on the cheeks.

"Why would I be kidding baka???"

The audience paused their cheering as they looked at the bickering couple, while thinking the same thing.

'Are they breaking up already or something?'

"You're really not joking with me?"

"Of course not"

"How long?"

"5 months"

Takao gaped like a fish out of water, he looked down at his boyfriend's stomach and stared at the bump. It was so deathly quiet that someone might have thought that they've gone deaf. Suddenly Takao started jumping around the court and screaming in joy.

"OH MY GOD!!!!!!! SHIN-CHAN I'M SO HAPPY!!!! I'm gonna be a dad minna~"

The crowd took a minute to process what he said before the stadium erupted into cheers again. Not only was Takao and Midorima engaged, but they were also going to be parents. This was the best day that anyone could've asked for.

Years down the road, the people that were present during that time will tell the story of how Shuutoku's light and shadow were finally able to make the decision to tie the knot and the start of a wonderful family.
