i get stuck when the world's too loud

Penny was trying to read. Arven and Nemona were arguing about something stupid the latter did in an attempt at cooking. Juliana was, rather than helping, standing around and laughing at the two.
Penny sighed. It was a mistake to invite her friends to her dorm room to hang out.

She could hear Arven raising his voice. He was more pissed off than he needed to be, really, but well. The second-year student had some mild anger management issues. The Team Star leader heard him say something in Spanish, probably a curse word. They were steadily getting louder. Penny couldn't concentrate. Couldn't think properly. It was too much yelling. They were too loud.
She flinched at a particularly loud announcement of "screw you!" directed at Nemona.

Juliana was the first to notice Penny's discomfort. And, being Juliana, she did something about it.

"Shut up, you two!" she shouted firmly, silencing the two older kids. Nemona looked shocked. Glancing over her shoulder, she saw Penny was rather shocked too. Continuing, Juliana added, "You're being way too loud. Be more considerate!"

Penny barely registered that the Champion-ranked trainer was shutting the other two up for her. She was... not used to people doing things like that for her. Her face flushed red at the realization, and she turned back to her book, blushing in embarrassment.

Arven's eyes widened as the realization of just how loud he was being hit him like a truck. And in Penny's room, no less. He quickly stammered an apology, promising not to do that again. Nemona was just in a state of stunned silence.

Juliana mentally cheered at her little victory before checking to make sure Penny was alright.
