“Hey Nut Case, have you done your essay on your favorite author?” Kevin asked me on his way to our class as I entered the school.

 

Oh no!! What am I gonna say to Mr. Kyle? I forgot my English essay! This was my last day to submit it. And I’m screwed! Why’s this always happening to me? The best for others and the worst for me! What can I do to make my life better?!

 

“Hey Christy, look out where you are going.” Carmel, one of my classmate said in between flirting with her boyfriend, Justin.

 

Christopher. That's my name. Christopher Campell.
My friends, who are few in number and my mom call me Chris and an average teenager.

 

I was going to clash myself against the trash can near the notice board.Well, thanks to Carmel, otherwise I would have made a clown out of myself again in front of others. Seriously, I don’t even remember going near the board.

 

I’m a popular guy in the school. Actually, not because I’m cool or handsome or anything, but, you see, people call me a jerk and I’m the bullies’ favorite victim.

 

Now, I forgot my essay. Mr. Kyle gave me this last chance or I’ll be in the detention for one whole week! When I did my essay in the right time, Matt took away my essay and gave to Mr. Kyle saying that he did it! He is the greatest bully in the school. Do you have any idea with how difficulty I collected the information? It was the best one I have ever done! Never mind. It’s just that I’m a sore loser.

 

“Pussycat, believe it or not, today is your lucky day.” Kevin said when I entered the class. Even though we entered the school together, he reached the class before me.

“Why? What happened?”

“Mr. Kyle is sick today. We’re going to have a free period.”

“How do you know that?”

“Consider me as ‘The One Who knows All’ Kevin.”

 

Oh my God. Thank You. You heard my prayers!!

 

When I entered the class, I saw Will sitting on his table and moving his hand awkwardly. He looked like he was hurt. Then I heard someone murmuring “Actually, who punched him?” then the other murmured back, “That girl did it when he was trying to flirt with her.”

 

When I went towards my seat, I saw a new girl reading a copy of biology, occupying it. I sudden understood about whom they were about. So I went towards her and tried to make a friendly conversation with her.

“Hi. I’m Christopher Campell.” I introduced myself.

 

She looked up at me. I saw that she was beautiful and was something special about her, though I couldn't point out. Maybe, it’s her dark brown shoulder length hair, hazel eyes or her healthy tanned skin. I don’t know. I never liked someone on the first sight itself. But this…. It’s totally different.
 

“So?” she asked.

Oh yeah. I was trying to have a conversation with her.

“So, would you move from this seat? If you want you can sit on the next one.” I was sitting in the last and there was a seat to my right.

“May I know why?” She asked a commanding voice.

“Hmm, because, I sit here. Actually, it’s my seat.”

“Oh! Okay. Here you go.” She said while moving towards her new seat. “I’m Ariel Larks.” She added with a smile.
I noticed that her cute canal teeth were a bit pointy. Wait! Did I just say cute?!

 

And suddenly, I heard a lot of slight gasps. I even heard someone saying ‘oh my gosh, she smiled at that dork.’, ‘Chris actually talked to the new girl without getting hit, ‘did you see that’, etc.

 

“This class known for the murmuring or what?” Airel mused.

I gave a small laugh and said “The girls here aren’t so tempered. They are into showoff businesses and into flirting. You’re the first one I have ever seen who is not into these stuffs.”

‘How did you know my temper?” She asked.

“Er- because I saw Will hurt and people were whispering about a new girl and hence you’re the only one… you understood, right?”

“Yeah. I understood.” She said and smiled sheepishly. She looked more beautiful and graceful.

 

I have no idea how we both became friends. But we became friends within a week. She was my best friend. ‘Friends in the End’.Or maybe a bit more than a friend for me…
