Description

Ara's Tale

ARA fled from the comfort of the foster care and disappeared completely from the provincial
town of Elton Ridge. Not a single trace was left for the police to work with, and many months after the
long search they all claimed the seventeen year old as gone forever, possibly dead.

Until sooner than they thought a sign was given, marking the runaway’s presence in the middle of Lawrence and literally raising Hell.

Foreword

PROLOGUE

The police officer put his feet up on the dashboard of his cruiser and continuously spent his wasted time on the box of donuts placed on the next seat. The rolled-down windows let in the cool breeze, along with the sounds of the crickets that howled at the night.

The nice atmosphere had the officer swinging his arms as he jammed to Road to Nowhere playing on the radio. He was bobbing his head to the tune when the signal disappeared, and the radio fell silent. The officer cursed and bit his lip as he messed with the controls, but nothing could bring the music back. He sighed and reached out for another donut as his other hand worked on the radio.

With the finishing of the third donut he pulled out his cup of coffee with one hand, and as soon as his lips touched the unblemished rim the sound and image of a rough explosion interrupted his lazy evening, causing a roaring quake about the cruiser and staining his uniform with plenty of caffeine in the process.

Sparks of fire shot up into the sky like fireworks with no other color but of the original auburn flames, and the darkness of the night was automatically lit up, so did the officer’s eyes as he gazed at the scene.

Immediately he pulled the transceiver from its place and alerted through the handset. He started the engine and drove out onto the roads, driving through the one leading straight to the heart of town where the flame display was being held.

When he reached the scene he rode over piles of scraps, and the air was filled with the ember remains.

He gawked for a long time, riding inside the cruiser as he scanned for life within the stuffy environment.

His jaw was completely dropped. “What the he—”

Before his sentence could even be finished another blow happened right in front of him, causing a burst of ashes and fragments of flying leftovers of what once were cars and other vehicles.

In the middle stood a petite figure, not too far from the cruiser itself. An illustration of hands and legs could be distinguished within the circle of flames, and red lips parted to speak before the last blow disrupted from the hands of the very figure.
