A A A A

The amount of change Beotkkok experienced had impacted me so hugely I was left gasping for air. If our train station had changed this much, I really didn’t want to see the rest of the town. I don’t mean to sound horrid, it’s just I personally dislike change, especially to certain attachments. This place was a peaceful location where nature drew you in and you’d be welcomed into this quaint town. I understood the fact that the more amount of residents or tourists there were, the greater business in our area would be, but all I could was wish that everything could go back to normal.

“You seem to be deep in thought,” commented the taxi driver.

“Oh, I’m sorry.”

“What are you apologising for? You’ve done nothing wrong dearie, I’d even tell you to stay that concentrated. I mean kids these days don’t even think!”

I smiled and giggled to his remark.

He chuckled and continued on to say, “Well you’re definitely a new face, how long are you staying for?”

“I wouldn’t say a new face, just refreshed. How long, well, that’s something I have to make my mind up about.”

“Well I hope you stay for a while this is a beautiful town. However you stopped me at the word refreshed, care to explain.”

“Oh yes, I forgot to explain. You see I use to live here, I guess I still do. I left at a really young age and now I’m back. It’s good to be home.”

“No wonder I haven’t seen you around! My family’s been here for a couple of month; I use to live about twenty minutes away but moved to the city. From saying that, you’d definitely agree the town’s changed.”

“That was the exact thing I was such deep in thought about. It’s still overwhelming to be very honest.”

“Trust me, you’ll adapt to it just fine. Look here we’ve already arrived at your destination. Although I must warn you, this place has changed quite significantly.”

I looked at the driver quizzically. I didn’t understand what he was talking about. I shrugged it off and gave him the address to where I’d be staying and asked if he could drop my luggage off for me there. He agreed with a grin to which I gave him his deserved earnings. He drove of waving and told me to enjoy my stay here and to what sounded like a motel. I again had no idea what he was talking about and concluded that he must be crazy. I tried to stay calm but I couldn’t close the cap of excitement and joy that was bubbling out. I took a quick breath and turned around. I opened my mouth in horror.
