A A A A

Everyday is hard, every minute kills me, and time always seems to be so short. Do you know the saying, "Time flies when you're having fun"? fodder crap. Time is gold, and by gold, I really mean gold.

Farming is like trying to find a needle in a haystackyes, it's that hard. Unless you're the Harvest Goddess or the Witch princess, then that's a different story. Anyway, I thought after getting married and months of trying to court a certain someone, I could finally get some help around with my job! But no, all they do is stay in the house all freaking day—wait no, not even half a day, since he has that much of free time in his hands to leisure around in his yacht. He doesn't even try to lift a single lumber.

I thought, being the kind gentleman he is, he'd at least help a bit around the farm. But again, it's a big fat no.

It's winter time again, and there isn't a single crop I could plant, not even wheat, and since I don't have enough sun stones to restore the greenhouse island, there isn't much to do but mine. Fantastic. I half-stomped, half-walked into the house as I take out the hoe, watering can, and hammer—every tool that's essential for mining in Volcano Island.

“Goodbye, my angel!” I heard him call out. I rolled my eyes and ran out the door, trying to catch up with time. As I walk through town, neighbors waved at me hello but as soon as they saw my sullen face, they awkwardly looked away, yet a bit confused since I usually look so bubbly, cheerful, and all that good stuff.

Hours later, I check my time and see that it's four thirty in the evening. I heave a sigh as I run back hom before the clock strikes five since I have to ship all my ores before that time. Once I've arrived, I sigh once again at the sight of Will sitting in the office, reading a book about different kinds of flowers. Oh, why did I marry him again? I could have gone for Vaughn, who would've taken cared of the animals, or Denny who could fish for me, and many other Bachelors, but of course, I had to choose the rich kid who speaks like he came straight out from the palace.

“Welcome back, Honey.” I forced a grin, and muttered a small 'It's good to be back' in reply. “So were you able to get some good ores?” I nodded as he smiled. Not wanting to speak any further, I quickly situated myself on the bed while he sat across me. But, of course, the conversation doesn't end yet for him.

“That's great—you seem to look tired honey." He pinpoints with a frown. At his remark, my eyes turn into dangerous slits as I glared at him, and my patience snaps into two.

“Well, what did you expect? I'm a girl who just came to this island about a few months ago, and I had to deal with this crap everyday to earn for a living, by myself!”He opens his mouth to say something, but I stop him from doing so. “And you, dear husband, don't even try to lift a finger to help me, at all!” I screamed, the house silent to my voice. Even the barn, which seems to be always filled with noise, becomes lost in my voice.

Once I was done with my side, I breathed in deeply, my lips trembling from the sudden outburst. I had never screamed before and Will seems to be taken a back by my sudden outburst, judging from his eyes wide. “I-I'm... sorry—I thought you were doing okay without me. I thought I'd slow you down if I tried to help...” I sighed as silence overtook the room.

My lips quirks into a small wry smile, “I'm sorry for shouting... and it's alright, I really shouldn't have done that. I'm just sort of stressed at the moment, I guess.” He frowns and tries to stand up, but I raised a hand up, indicating for him to stop. “We're both tired, so let's just sleep. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?” He nods reluctantly as I turned my back to him, blankets tucked in, and lights shut off. My mind kept lingering back to the scene seconds ago, and I felt guilt set in, but slight anger continues to simmer in my sytem. I shut my eyes, in hopes that sleep will take it all away.

The next morning I wake up to the birds chirping and the snow falling softly to the ground outside the window. But the most unusual part, despite the entreat of this morning, was the shock of hearing Will curse profoundly at this time of daywell, at any day really. I tell you, Will never curses. He's always so gentlemanly, and hearing him say those words seemed like the world was going to end any second now.

“Will?” I groggily sat up from the bed, rubbing my eyes as I tried to adjust to the morning light.

“Oh, Honey!” I heard him laugh a bit nervously as I heard him stumble around. “You're awake—” The sound of the tool box crashing as it hits the floor with a loud thud causes me to flinch and I immediately jolt awakemore alert than ever. I walked towards Will as I gasp at the sight before me, before a hearty laugh escapes my lips.

“Will—” I held my stomach, “—what in the world are you wearing?!” I bellowed. He scratches the back of his neck nervously and blushes as he clears his throat in embarassment. “A helmet—and all those mining gear stuff...” I giggled, “Why are you wearing—that?” I ask again, oblivious to his intentions. It's morning, what can I say? Furthermore, it was hard to think straight when you see your husband wearing a mining gear twice his size. It's not everyday to see Will dress up in this kind of get up, and be welcomed by his unusual foul mouth in the morning.

Wills looks at me dead in the eye, before a smile graces his pink lips. “I'm going to help you mine of course!”

Warmth spreads my heart at his words, and I bit my lip to stop myself from smiling too much. “Are you sure?”

He nods eagerly in reply, “Unless you don't want me too... but I still insist, I really do!”

I smiled widely before nodding, “Sure! Why not!”

He stumbles his way towards me, and surprises me with a hug, “I'm sorry...” he whispered. I returne the favor and nuzzled my face into his neck.

“It's alright, and thank you, Will.” He lets go minutes later and I face him before another onslaught of giggles escapes my lips.

“You don't need any of that though,” I took off the helmet and any other un-necessary stuff he had put on. “It'll just be in your way.”

He looks at me smugly as he holds my hand in his, “But I looked cool, right?”

I chuckled, “Nope, not really.” I stuck my tongue out at him before running out the door in the snow.

“Hey!” I laughed as Will tries to keep up with my fast pace. Oh, the perks of being a farm girl.

I don't need Vaughn to help me with the animals. I don't need Denny to help me with fishing, or Elliot with farming. I have Will, the idiot I love and marry. Even though he's clumsy and really has no experience in the fields, he's there when I need him too. He's caring, loving and sweet—my Will.

(A/N:) I hope you enjoyed this one-shot! :D lol, I just wanted to rant about how my husband doesn't try to help me when I work... *sighs* but I still love him nevertheless XD I'm too addicted to Rune Factory and Harvest Moon OTL

This is cute. But sometimes I get sidetracked, figuring who is saying what. Oh no need for the he said, she said nonsense. But some lines were followed by the character not speaking them. Anyway, this is an entertaining read.
