Lady Annastaise

 

After restoring the Amsel Manor, Anna was satisfied by how her powers were useful. No one suspect a thing about her, neighbors were awed by Amsel's Manor who had been restored only in a few days. They welcomed her, adore her and some sympathizes her for losing her family. All she did was pretend.

'It wont be long until Earl Phantomhive will contact' she thought with her sly grin. A soft knock on her bed room door, it was the maid who she hired from far village.

“Lady Anna, there's a guest and asked for you” Sophie said, Anna was sitting on her bed cross-legged.

“Who?” She asked, “A butler, he said you'll know when you meet him” Sophie relayed the message to her lady. Anna clicked her tongue in annoyance, but stood up and followed the maid to the main living room. There she saw Sebastian stood up after noticing her arrival, Anna kept her composer and smiled. 

“Its an honor to meet you, Countess Amsel” Sebastian bowed in respect, Anna took a seat opposite of him and motioned him to sit down.

“May I ask why the honorable butler of Phantomhive is in my presence?” Anna asked as she signal the maid to prepare some light meal.

“I'm am not in anyway deserve to be called an honorable butler and I apologise for coming without a notice. But my young master, Lord Ciel Phantomhive has asked for your prescence tomorrow for a business proposal” Sebastian said as he looks at Anna with controlled expression.

“ah...i see, I' d be honored.” Anna answered with a confident smile.

“but, isn't it more convinient to send an invitation letter than coming here far from your master?” Anna question him.

“That is because, I needed to confirm something” Anna let out a laugh.

“what is it that you wanted to know?” Sebastian look at her with his usual expression, “Are you really her grand daughter? As far as I know Lady Annastaise Amsel died at the age of 18 and unwed” At the right timing, Sophie returned with cakes and teas. As Anna kept silence while Sophie served her tea, Sebastian he gazed at her intently. 

“you're wrong, after the incident. My great-grandmother was in a coma after a very long time and it took her ten years to regain concious, she married her long waited fiance and had two daughters” Anna explained, Sebastian wasn't convinced and didn't touch the tea.

“dont worry I didnt poisoned it” Anna assured him.

“Well, if you know that. Would you know who were her butler before the incident?” Anna gave him an intensed look.

“he was a demon.” Sebastian continued.

“ehh so you knew, I thought grandmother had kept it a secret” Anna said with a smile, Sebastian continue to stare at her intently.

“I can sense another demon in this house” Sebastian told her, Anna laughed loudly.

“Ah...so are you suspecting me?” Anna said with a grin. “its true that one of us is a demon, but I can assure you that it's not me” Anna lied. Still, Sebastian wasn't convinced. He suddenly stood up and bow to her in respect. “i'll take my leave for now and we will wait patiently for your arrival tomorrow” Sebastian says before he leaves, his tea was left untouched. Anna clicked her tongue in annoyance, “such a waste”. Anna raised Sebastian's tea and drop it on the carpet. Sophie ran to clean up urgently, Anna stared at her.

“Forgive me, Sophie” Anna apologise half heartedly.

The next evening Ciel and Sebastian was waiting at the Manor enterance for their guests, in a distance they can see a carriage approaching.

The crimson colored carriage made its final stop in front of Ciel and Sebastian, the carriage door slightly opened. Sebastian held the door and swung it open, in the carriage.

He saw a little girl who were napping on Lady Anna's lap.

“Luci..we're here” Lady Anna, lightly shook the little girl lightly.

But the little girl continued her sleep peacefully.

“I apologizes, my sister insisted on coming” she apologetically look at both Sebastian and Ciel.

Anna motioned her maid to take Lucy, Sebastian escorted her off the carriage.

“Welcome to Phantomhive's manor, I'm the Earl Phantomhive, Ciel Phatomhive and this is my butler Sebastian Michaelis” Ciel introduces himself and his butler, Sebastian slightly bow at her. Anna gave Ciel a smile.

“I'm honored to be invited to the Phantomhive's manor..as you can see this is my younger sister, Lucille Amsel and our maid Sophie Hersher” Ciel held out his hand for Anna to place hers.

“We'll be having discussion by dinner, till then Sebastian will show you the way to the waiting room and ofcourse a guest room for your sister to rest” Ciel says as he look at Anna then to Sebastian.

An hour later, Sebastian came knocking on the guest room's door.

The door was opened by Sophie, Sebastian look around for Anna but saw the little wide awake looking at him with her big rounded eyes.

“You're just like Oneesama” Luci said, a smirk appeared on Sebastian's mouth.

“oh really? Tell me Lucille-sama, how am I alike to Lady Annastaise?” When Luci was about to answer, Anna came out from the restroom.

“I told you to stop talking nonsense, Luci” she scolded her sister, Anna turn her gazes towards Sebastian.

“what is it...Sebastian?” Anna asked, “Milady, the young master had ask you to the living area” Sebastian informed. Anna nodded her head and turn towards Sophie. 

“Keep a close eye on Luci, dont let her wander off.”Anna commanded her maid before Sebastian escorted her out to the Living area where Ciel was. Anna followed Sebastian through the long hallways. The whole manor was blue, unlike Amsel's, it was Ruby red. The color and the furniture changes every time when a new Earl or a Countess inherits the Manor. Anna locked her gaze intently on Sebastian's back.

“Is there something wrong Mi'lady?” Sebastian as as he slightly turn his head to look at her.

“I was just wondering...what it's like to have a butler” Anna said with a smile.

“oya, It does seems like Lady Annastaise's butler is absent” Anna glare at him slightly.

“It has been a long time...that bastard butler of mine has been absent for too long” Anna replied with an intense look.

“A bastard indeed” Sebastian said with a calm look that irritates Anna. Just when Anna was about to say something, Sebastian knocked on a door.

“Excuse us” Sebastian opened the dark brown door, Ciel was sitting on a sofa drinking his tea with a newspaper in the other hand. Ciel stood up as he notices Anna's arrival.

“Have a seat” Ciel said as Anna walks over to the divan and sat. It was quiet for a minute until Sebastian left.

“ Annastaise Ruby Amsel...didn't you went missing hunder year ago?” Ciel asked looking at Anna with suspicion, a grin formed on Anna's face.

“Yes, actually...i was named Annabel Ruby Amsel, until recent years I've learned that I inherits my great grand mother's name and her title. Therefore I was renamed Annastaise Ruby Amsel the second.” Anna explained as she crosses her legs, Ciel had the same suspicion look on his face.

“well, its up to you to believe it or not.” Anna said as she returns him an intent gaze. Ciel let out a light snicker and took a sip of his tea as he sat down the newspaper.

“I heard from Sebastian...” Anna swallowed hard but kept her composure, inside its nerve-wrecking. Have he notice? Have I been exposed? Those unspoken question were lingering inside her mind.
