Chapter 5:/

{{"Ever since that party, time went by fast. I didn't do much. I got into softball as a sport, I was good at it too. Rena was in the fashion club and Kaylee was into leadership programs. We didn't see Hanna often. Or at all. We were starting to think she moved but we saw her at a school gathering."

"What happened between you and Matt?" Josephine asked.

"Well, I saw him in the halls, he tried to apologize to me numerous of times but I shunned him a lot. I didn't want to hear apologizes. No matter how much I still liked him or liked  him. My sophomore year was different from the other years." I finished."}}

"I'm soooo tired, can I just sleep for the rest of my life?" Rena slid into the seat besides me. We were in Biology class.

"Wouldn't that mean you're dead?" I asked, amused by her ridiculousness.

"Exactly my point. No but really, let me be a hobo that lives in your backyard Essie." Rena lay her head on my shoulder, pouting. I laughed.

"But that's what I wanted to do! I wanted to live in your garage." I said. She lifted up her head with a eyebrow furrowed.

"Then that's not a hobo. Hobo's don't have shelter." she tapped her pencil on my head. "You are an idiot aren't ya?" she laughed.

I swatted her hand away, smiling like a fool.

"Where's the actual idiot anyways?" I referred to Kaylee. Rena shrugged.

"Probably late."

"The usual."

"'The usual' nothing. I'm fashionably late." Kaylee slipping into the other seat besides me.

"That's Rena's line." I opened my book up, starting to do work.

"Well anyways, I was stopped by a major cutie in the hall. I thought he wanted some Kaylee lovin' but guess who he asked for?" Kaylee sung the last part of the sentence. I kept writing, pretending not to care but I sorta did. I figured it would be Rena.

"Me?" Rena asked. I looked at Kaylee and she shook her head.

"Nope. Essie," Kaylee nudged me, "you can finally take your mind off that jerk Matt."

"Who is it?" I asked. Kaylee put a finger to her mouth, she wasn't going to tell.

Later that day I went to my locker. I needed books for my math class which I dreaded greatly. I even considered skipping that class more than once, but I knew my parents would kill me if they found out that I skipped. There was one problem, I couldn't find my math book. I sighed in frustration. My locker was so messy, it's probably behind my coat. As soon as I started shuffling things around, I heard Matt's voice behind me, calling my name. I dropped my shoulders. I wasn't in the mood for this.

I turned around to see his face. "What do you want?" I said coldly.

"Your forgiveness. I didn't know what was happening. Hanna told me she had some stuff of yours that she wanted me to give back to you and then she started dancing and then climbed on top of me then you came. I knew it looked bad, I felt horrible that you walked in on that." He said, voice filled with regret. I bit on the inside of my cheek.

"Then why didn't you stop her? You didn't push her off or told her stop or anything. You just sat there." I started to get angry. "You know what, this happened a year ago, I don't want to think about it anymore. Apology not accepted, you can leave now." I turned around, shuffling things around once more to find the stupid book. He grabbed my arm and forced me to look at him.

"I said I was sorry!" he said.

"I don't care now let me go!" I struggled to get his grasp off.

"Not until you forgive me Essie." his grip around my arm tightened. It was starting to hurt.

"Let go of me now!" I tried hitting him but he dodged them all.

"HEY!" I heard a voice yell out to us. I thought it was a teacher, I was realized. Then I looked to see it was a guy. I saw him around but I never had classes with him. He had amazing green eyes.

"Get off of her!" He pushed Matt off of me. I looked at my arm and there was a red hand mark on it. It's gonna bruise, I know it is. Matt looked at me then at him, then left angrily.

"Thank you." I said rubbing my arm. He gave me a nice smile.

"Your name is Essie right? I asked you friend Kaylee earlier about you. I hope that's not too weird." He said. So he was the major cutie that Kaylee was talking about.

"Yeah, its Essie and you are..."

"Milo Ross." He took my arm and examined it. "Will you be okay? The nurse will give you some ice." he traced the hand print, he looked angry. "I don't like it when guys treat the very people that gives us life badly." he took his hands off my arm and into his pockets. I didn't know what to say. He was gentle but agressive when needed. The first time I met him, he's already done the right things to impress me.

"Does he bother you often?" he asked.

"This is the first time he's ever done this to me." I got a wrap from my locker and wrapped my arm. Thank goodness I played softball.

"If he ever, just let me know. We've had some history together." MIlo said, although angry but he said it softly.

"Oh. Well, I'll let you know then." I said, lifting up my backpack, it was heavier than it usually was all day. I opened it to see my math book in there and sighed with annoyance. Why does this always happen to me?

"Is there something wrong?" he asked me.

"I couldn't find my math book this whole time. It was in my backpack since this morning..." Milo started laughing and I looked at him then I started to smile. He had a nice laugh.

"Well, I'll see you some other time." Milo started walking away.

"Okay, bye." I said, secretly disappointed. I thought he liked me... Why did he ask for me? I pushed my bangs out of my face and closed my locker and started to make my way to the lunchroom where Kaylee and Rena waited for me. Then I looked in my backpack for my math book. It wasn't there. What the heck? I ran back to my locker to unlock it. I was starting to get angry at myself for absent mindedly putting my stuff in places then going crazy looking for it minuets later. I took my book from my locker then started walking to the lunch room again.

Now I know how Rena feels. I wanted to sleep for the rest of my life now.
