A A A A

I would have never stopped by that bench, if the walk wasn’t so tiring.

I would have taken a moment to realize where I was, if my mind wasn’t full of thoughts.

I would have never met you if you weren’t so kind and alluring.

I would never awaken again if you were just a dream…

T’was dusk when I saw you,

Your eyes were brightly sparkling,

Your complexion white as snow.

Standing under the warmly hued kaleidoscope sky.

Your scent, as sweet and strong as velvet,

Masked all impotent odors in the air…

Your voice, so gentle like an angel’s

Heard across this hell of a place.

I stared at you until the stars came out one by one,

The people were starting to leave.

Standing by the fountain, you glanced at my direction.

I looked away into the horizon where the moon began to rise…

A soft tap on the shoulder, I already knew it was you.

I turned around only to be greeted by your angelic smile.

I looked into your ocean blue eyes,

They say the eyes are the windows to your soul…

And everything within you is portrayed through them…

I expected to see who I thought you really were…

But instead, I saw them dull and empty.

Like a star, I was drawn by the eternal darkness your eyes beheld.

So it was all just a façade…

I didn’t notice you leaning towards me…

A soft kiss landed on my forehead.

It felt strange to be kissed by someone you don’t know…

And I know for a fact that this is the first time I have met you…

I suddenly felt a familiar air around you,

Like I’ve met you somewhere before…

In another life maybe?

Or somewhere my mind can’t go to…

I sat there motionless.

I was completely at a loss for words.

I continued to gaze at your black orbs,

Silence engulfing us slowly.

Your voice shattered the silence,

With words that shook me right through the core.

Under the moonlit night, we sat on the bench…

The trees casting shadows and forming silhouettes…

With voice as sweet as honey, you started a conversation…

Stories about your life and how I looked like someone you knew…

You ended your story with a subtle laugh,

Then everything went quiet again…

My eyes wandered at the night stars so far away…

With my hand, I tried to reach out and grab them but to no avail…

I couldn’t reach them, just like my hopes and dreams…

I couldn’t hold them, just like the person I loved…

You looked at me with a questioning expression,

I smiled to assure you that everything was fine…

The wind blew, carrying your scent…

Violet Lavenders…

You came closer, your head on my shoulder…

Puzzled, I looked at you to see your face streamed with tears…

I wanted to hold you and wipe away your tears,

But how could I when we barely knew each other?

With my hand, I gave you a soft pat on the head…

In a moment’s time, the bells began to ring…

T’was midnight and the moon was high up in the sky…

You looked at me and stopped crying…

You started to sing a song I have heard before…

Harmonious melodies began to float through the night…

With silence as your audience,

The whole world listened to your song…

“Triebes Laume”, The Dream of Love…

Originally a piano composition, empty of words,

You created lyrics that clearly portrayed your thoughts,

Your beliefs, your emotions…

The sun was beginning to rise in the horizon…

Dawn was approaching…

After a long silent gaze, you stood up and looked at me,

With eyes filled with sorrow and want…

Tears streamed down your blue orbs, falling on your cheeks…

A simple “Goodbye” was the only word you uttered,

Before you turned around and walked away

Into the darkness of the forest…

Was this all just a dream?

I wanted to run after you and stop you from leaving,

But my body was frozen, chained down from the very beginning…

I just silently watched as you started to disappear before my very eyes…

Dawn is breaking…

I stood up as tears started to stream down my face…

Why am I crying?

Why do I feel so empty inside?

In just one night, an angel came and showed me a glimpse of heaven…

In just one night, she was swallowed by the darkness of the night…

In just one night, I thought she was embedded in my heart…

And in just one night, she disappeared with a sad goodbye…

I came back the next day, hoping to see you again…

My heart was ecstatic to see your face…

I waited and waited for hours and hours…

But you never showed up…

From dusk till dawn, I waited.

From dusk till dawn, I hoped.

From dusk till dawn, I remembered.

But not even your shadow showed up…

Realization struck me like lightning.

I was convinced you were not real…

Just a dream that I made up,

To cure my broken heart…

Three years, since the day I dreamt of you,

I came back to the place where we met…

A silhouette as beautiful as the moon itself was sitting on your spot…

With complexion as white as snow and hair as dark as the sky…

Am I dreaming again?

I approached the figure, the wind blowing with the scent of lavenders…

I simple tap on the shoulder to make her turn,

And I was greeted by eyes that held the color of the ocean…

I almost mistook her for you…

She resembled you so much…

But both of you are different…

She’s real and you are not, just a figment of my imagination.

The first time we met was just a sweet dream…

A glimpse of paradise and heaven alike.

A simple look into the future…

A sign that I will meet you here.

I won’t let this moment pass,

I won’t let you go a second time.

This time, I will turn my dream into a reality…

I had loved you ever since I met you in my dreams…

I smile at the girl in front of me,

Her eyes were full of life and beauty.

This is no longer a dream but reality.

This is my chance to reach for the star I could never reach before…

As I sit next to you and start a conversation,

It will only take one night…

From dusk till dawn,

I’ll tie a red string on our fingers that will bind us for life…
