A A A A

He had just flown back in from New York. He remembered their promise and never faltered. He didn't even get home. He went straight to the park, luggage and all. It was raining but he didn't care. He found their bench along the lake. They sat there countless times.

He sat down on his suitcase and waited. After it got dark, and cold seeped into his bones, he walked away. Tomorrow he thought.

Tommorow came. And he waited again at the bench.

The next day came. He waited even more.

On the fourth day he began to think to himself. What if she isn't going to come back? What if she found herself a new boyfriend? She was right. No he thought. That isn't her. She kept her promise. I know she did. Then he told himself, Im going to come back tomorrow. I know she will be here. I know it. If she doesn't come back. Well, I'll just give up.

The fifth day came. It was still raining, just as it had all week. It was mid day and few people were walking by. They all stopped to look at him. One of them stood across the lake from him, and he thought it was Her. But they ended up walking away with their child in hand. So he waited.

     And waited.

     And waited.

He decided to give up. She's never going to come. He looked up at the darkened sky. I knew I should have stayed. I should have held her closer. He got up. And began to walk when he heard her.

At first he thought it was a trick. The wind is fooling me.

     Is that you?

He turned, looked into her eyes. At her Purple and Black hair. They stood there. She dropped her umbrella and ran towards him. He ran towards her and they embraced each other. They both cried into each other's shoulders.

I love you. I love you forever. He said.

Promise you won't ever do that again.

     I promise I won't.

Promise me you won't ever let me go.

I won't let you go ever again.

They stood on the path. Hugging each other. It seemed that they weren't going to let go.

And they never let go.
