A A A A

“So this is it.”

Those were the last words I heard from her.

It was cool and calm.

No tears, no trembling, no distress

for that moment.

She vanished in my horizon and only the sound

of her heels clicking on the pavement

remained.

Her scent lingered for a moment

but the wind blew it away

 along with our memories.

The wind blew

it away along with our

memories.

I did not run after her shadow ―and now I regret.

Now

I regret.

Now I

regret.

I could still hear her whisper my name

every now and then.
