A A A A

Many types of transportation, whether by plane, cruise line, or even by Pokémon were seen all heading to the same place. Where was this place?

This location was a remote island outside the mainlands of the Kanto region. This place was known as New Island.

Many trainers and spectators were heading here for one reason only: The Legends League.

They say in old tales that the Legends League was created by legendary Pokémon themselves in order to see which trainer would be victorious, naming he or she the Pokémon Master of that tournament giving that trainer the opportunity to battle any legendary they wanted.

However, to people now. It's only been an old tale. Nowadays, the winner of this tournament that's been held every five years is given request to challenge the Symphonious Championships, where the current Pokémon Masters compete in the most brutal of Pokémon battle to become the ultimate Pokémon Master.

At the moment, a group of teenagers, with some adults had just arrived on the island. Among them was Takeshi, Kasumi, Shigeru, Haruka, Shuu, Masato, Hikari, Shinji, Hanako, and Professor Oak.

"I can't believe that we're finally here!! To think in our whole lives, we finally get to attend the Legends League!" yelled out Kasumi in excitement.

Shigeru, who was walking by her side and a certain yellow mouse on his shoulder, held her hand and a smirk on his face, "You better believe it, babe. I'm ready to win this thing and this Kanto Champion will move up to status as Pokémon Master!"

"Are you sure about that? As Sinnoh Champion myself, I should say that I'll be master myself," commented Shinji from behind the couple as he held Hikari's hand, who was completely in a daze because of him at the moment.

"I don't care! I'll root for both of you. You two will wipe out the competition for sure! The Johto, Hoenn and Isshu Champions are no match for you two!!" yelled Masato in excitement, looking up to his role models and Takeshi watching over him. Haruka sighed at her younger brother's antics while Shuu quietly observed with his hand wrapped around Haruka's waist.

"Isn't there supposed to be another Champion as well?" asked Hanako with curiosity.

Prof. Oak nodded in agreement, "Correct! That would be the Champion from the Kalos region."

"So what, that's just one more champion to take down easily," commented Shigeru.

"Hey look! It's the scoreboard with those who have the probability of who would win!" shouted Haruka, pointing at the device that was in front of the Pokémon Center. The group went over to check out the board. They scrolled up on the list, making up to the top 10, however, their reactions were all but happy.

"How would I be at number 6?" questioned Shinji in anger. Hikari glared at the list as well.

"I barely made it to number 5!? But how? Who the hell is in the top 4?" shouted Shigeru furiously as he scrolled up the list, "Number 4: Hoenn Champion Calme, Number 3: Johto Champion Wataru, Number 2: Issun Champion Iris, Number 1: Kalos Champion S--"

Shigeru stopped in his tracks the moment he saw the name. Everyone else was confused until the saw the name as well. Everyone seemed to be angry, however, Hanako was crying with tears of happiness with Professor Oak comforted her with a small smile.

"I always knew my boy had the potential."

-Meanwhile-

Another cruise ship had arrived on the island, One was that of a familiar face with golden brown eyes that held anger, yet held much determination. On his shoulder was a small fox like Pokémon that smirked as it looked around their new surroundings. Three others walked with the teenage boy. Two held expressions that seemed more excited, but remained focus. The last one held a rather unreadable expression as one couldn't tell if they were angry, sad, happy, crazy, a mix of all?

"This place seems rather large. Would it be easy to get lost?" questioned one of the four.

"I kinda doubt it if you know where you're going, Serena. Though, it would be the perfect opportunity for you to make your debut here as a Hoenn Elite Four member," explained Calme as he walked beside her.

"This feels pretty boring to me so far," yawned the last person, who was a female in a rather beautiful dress and wild violet hair to match.

The first figure with the Zoroa on his shoulder smiled, "Not to worry, Iris, I'm sure you'll be able to take down the competition with much...despair...left in their tracks."

Iris smirked reply, "I'm impressed, Satoshi. Seems to me that the more you spend time with me, the more despair induced you get from all your hated you have."

"Not true actually. I don't plan to bring despair to those I can still consider as a friend, besides, I have more hope in challenging and working hard to achieve the title of Pokémon Master," replied back the Kalos Champion. Iris frowned at her lover's answer.

Satoshi chuckled at her expression before wrapping his arm around her neck and kissing her on the cheek, "Come on, Iris. You know how I feel about this. It's not like I ask much out of you in bringing hope to Issun or something. Even if at one point I was truly in despair, all the Pokémon that I have and your support brought me hope in conquering Kalos and becoming champion."

Iris giggled at the statement, "Me? Bring you hope? Satoshi, you know how truly ironic that statement sounds? The champion who brought Issun down to its knees with all the despair they can have gave "hope" to you?"

"It seems complicated but it's true!" Satoshi laughed with his Zoroa snickering as well. Iris sticked her tongue out before laughing as well.

Serena and Calme sighed at the two lovers behind them.

"How did those two end up together again? They're complete opposites aside from their stubbornness and determination," asked Serena.

"They say opposites attract but with Satoshi and Iris....I have no idea..." replied Calme in confusion before turning his head, "If you two lovebirds are done, were here at the Pokémon Center already!"

"Okay!" yelled the two in reply, making Calme and Serena sweatdrop.

"I can never tell if they're champions or children with those two," grumbled the Hoenn Champion with Serena nodding in agreement.

Once they arrived at the Pokémon Center, it didn't take long for the line to shorten. Nurse Joy was in surprise once recognizing the three champions and one elite four member, though she couldn't help but shiver a bit of just feeling Iris' rather strange presence even though the Issun Champion had an innocent smile on her face. It took very little time in scanning all their Kalos Zukan before handing them back to them.

"Registered and ready to go!" smiled the blonde Elite Four.

"It says in our Zukan that all four of us are sharing the same apartment. We'll be staying in the Champion's Complex that's in the Southmost side of the island," explained Calme as he read through his Zukan.

"Perfect. That side has quite a bit of forest when I saw the map. It's the perfect place to train our Pokémon," replied Satoshi in excitement.

Serena sweatdropped at this, "Satoshi, are you sure YOU need to train more? I mean, in the past few months, not single trainer in Kalos has even beaten your first Elite Four."

"Of course! An Elite Four is only as strong as their champion so I have to make sure my Pokémon stay in shape," explained the black haired champion.

The four soon left the Pokémon Center to head for their temporary home. However, as they were half way there, they were suddenly stopped by some familiar faces in Satoshi's eyes.

"So we finally find the good for nothing loser. Too bad that you're still all good. I thought the police force would've found you eventually," mocked a familiar brunette with a Pikachu on his shoulder that was snickering.

Satoshi's good mood turned completely sour in an instant. Iris quickly took notice and only smirked at the sudden change in attitude. Serena and Calme were completely nervous, knowing how the teenager got when angered.

"Nice to see you too, Shigeru. I see you decided to keep my Pikachu and you brought your followers with you," Satoshi replied rather calmly with his Zoroa snickering, making Shigeru's group angry.

Off in the distance, Hanako and Prof. Oak observed the situation, waiting to see what would happen and for the fact that Hanako wasn't ready to see her son yet.

"Listen you good for nothing piece of shit! You have no right to talk to Shigeru like th--" Kasumi was quickly cut off by the Kanto Champion's hand being in front of her.

"Tell you what, you battle me in a one on one match. If you win, we'll leave you alone until the tournament, but if I win, then I'll just take that rare Zoroa from you since there's no way you're even worthy enough to keep such a rare Pokémon," explain Shigeru with a laugh.

Serena and Calme were rather calm about the idea in reality while Iris grinned in excitement, 'They don't even have a clue of the despair he just brought to himself.'

Satoshi was in thought, "That sounds like a promising idea....but I rather battle someone who won't compete in the tournament. How about that?"

"No way! You have to battle me!" yelled Shigeru in anger.

"Wait! I want to battle him! The scoreboard is probably lying about Satoshi winning the tournament; I bet they hacked it to change the rankings. Plus, I think he's bluffing if he thinks he can beat someone as strong as you!" yelled Masato, backing up the Kanto Champion.

Iris and Satoshi's Zoroa didn't hold back as they laughed hysterically, making the female's in Shigeru's group rather nervous. Serena frowned in confusion, "I didn't notice a scoreboard anywhere."

"We probably missed it when Satoshi and Iris were arguing on the way to the center," answered Calme with a sweatdrop.

Satoshi only sighed since he couldn't get the situation under control with Shigeru's and Masato's arguing and Iris' and Zoroa's hysteric laughter, "Fine, I'll challenge the pipsqueak. The wager will be the same."

Masato only smirked at Satoshi's answer, "Better be warned 'cause my Pokémon will beat yours so easily that you'll never see it coming!"

Shigeru's group cheered for the boy while Satoshi's group sighed at the response while they all thought the same thing.

'If only they knew what was coming.'

A/N: Sorry for not updating! I was busy with school, finals, and I got to Oklahoma a few days ago for holiday break!

Whew! So how was that for a chapter? Well probably slow but that's normal for a beginning chapter. So why did Satoshi's old friends betray him? Why does Shigeru have Pikachu? Why is Wataru still champion of Johto? Why is Calme Hoenn Champion while Satoshi is Kalos Champion? How is Serena an Elite Four? Who's Satoshi's Elite Four? Better yet, why is Iris more OOC in this story? All shall be in due time everyone, especially for many flashbacks and back stories to come!! For now, next chapter is the "battle" for Satoshi vs. Masato. Sure, this beginning is very clichè for those who's read Ash betrayed stories and will already turn their heads back at it but please give it a few chapters to develope in hope of deconstructing at least a bit of the typical fics like these. With that, I shall see you all next chapter!!

Next Time: A One-Sided Battle!

Goodnight everyone!!
