Chapter 02

Krystal quickly jumped out of her seat and just stood next to the very table that Alice was sliding herself onto the seat that was matched for table. The class rushed to their seats and  threw their cigarettes into the bin straight after they dipped it in a water bottle. Everyone rushed into their places. Krystal slowly walked to another empty seat, in the middle of the classroom.

 

After the first two periods of work in silence, Krystal grabbed her snack from her trashed locker and walked off to the crowed cafeteria. As she was walking, many eyes were aimed at Krystal. She walked silently to an empty table.It was so weird for the cafeteria to be crowded with students, but still leave a full empty table. Krystal just thought it was just lucky to find a table to herself. It wasn’t even a minute yet and again everyone went silent and gave a pathway to Krystal. Krystal looked around and saw a small, but a handsome and pretty group of people walking up to her. She quickly took a bite of her apple before the group arrived surrounding her.

“ Err hi,” one pretty Blondie said in a disgusted way. Krystal saw Alice standing next to her. Krystal quickly got out of your seat and said, “ I guess you guys own this table, I should,”

“ Yes, please shoo.” 

Krystal quickly walked slowly feeling like a peasant who had just entered a forbidden area.

 

Krystal sat on the green, no yellow dried up grass. All the trees on the side was taken so she sat in the middle of the oval. No one was playing on the fields. It felt awkward as every time she met eye-contact with a stranger. She quietly ate up all her lunch.

 

“ How was school sweetie? Meet any new friends?”

“ It was okay, learnt a few things today.”

“ Okay, that’s good then.”

“ I’m gonna have a shower.”

“ NO! Don’t have a shower, I mean you cannot. We can’t afford to have you shower everyday.”

“ But I’ll stink!”

“ Just wipe yourself with a soaked towel.”

Krystal walked up her shared bedroom with her elder sister and slop herself onto her uncomfortable mattress. Reaching inside her pocket, she just realized she had no phone she once had. She slammed her pillow on her head and after day-dreaming for a minute or two she got up and changed. 

 

“ Mum!!!” JaeKwang shouted. “ Where did you place my laptop?”

“ It’s in my locked drawer!” She shouted from a distance.

“ But it’s locked!”

“ Exactly!”

“ I have important stuff in there!”

“ So important that I can’t see it?”

There it was again. The screams from the house next door. In the two months Krystal had been here, she had never seen the boy living next door, only his young parents. They were   considerate of how we had gone broke. They even offered some money. As a non-selfish parent, they responded, “No thanks.” She had no idea why they would have fights with their son everyday. Why not just talk to them then?

 

Krystal walked up to the door of their neighbour at eight in the morning in neatly pressed uniform. She was really excited to take a clear and proper look inside their house. She pressed the door bell and a screen popped up right away, it was a girl and a boy behind her. Both in uniform. The boy was a cute looking one. You couldn’t tell what type of uniform it was. He had dark hair with a side fringe. The girl on the other hand, was Alice.
