Day 1 - angst love sliceoflife school tragedy - chapter image

A A A A

Willy was one of the excellent student in the class. He have looks, money and all of the above that other guy had wanted to get. But amongst all the girls, there's this particular girl that had never interested in him. He would always wondering although she's not that much of attraction to him.

She's all smile every time. Hardly for him to see her frowning or being upset. She's Alana.

Alana was just like him but is even better in studies than him. She plays a lot in the class but still managed to get high grades. She lives with her grandmother since she's a little and loss her parents by then. But she never complained about her life.

Like other usual day, she sat at the last table in the middle, with her seatmate; Kyle. She's talking carelessly about the surrounding.

Willy turned to his book, resuming his work. He do rather doing the homework in school than doing it at home. Speaking of home. He lives alone. Not to mention, his parents are out of town and would only came home once or twice in two months.

His gazed shifted to the window. Earlier, their Chemistry teacher had been substitute temporary as she solve her errands. She had left them with the work. But Willy feel nothing. He didn't even understand a thing about what he'd write in the spaces provided.

This can't do. He thought. Furthermore, he's in his last year of high school, same as Alana and the others.

With the voice of Alana of laughing behind the class, he felt his attention being threatened to her. He never understand why she never have interest in him. Like other girls did. She's different.

With her cool image, outgoing, bubbly and she also talked to randomest person on earth. A total stranger. When he first entered the class 3 years ago, he knew the girl will be all over him. But not Alana.

"Urm, Willy..." Cara, the girl sat with Ryan approached his desk. Willy looked at her. She's pretty but he didn't pay attention to girl. Not her. She's just another friends to him.

"Can you teach me how to do the ionic equation? I can't understand it." She put her book on his desk.

Cara Ivanka Gomez. She's a real ladylike in the class. She had been Willy's classmate since they entered middle school. Cara is more to the soft type of girl. She's appeared quiet but had always tried to approached him. Surely, she's one of Alana's friends too.

Alana is like everyone's best friend. She's everyone's favourites.

Willy broke in to an awkward smile. "Err, it's not that I don't want. But I can't understands it too actually." He responded. True though. He himself didn't understands it.

Cara smiled back, assuming he's actually paying attention to her. "Oh, sure. It's okay. But somehow, I think that it has something to do with Iron (Fe) and mixed with Potassium and ..." She continues but Willy barely listening to what she's saying as he heard Kyle laughing at the back of the class. Although it wasn't that loud but he can't keep himself from not to care what's happening behind there.

"Willy?" Cara hesitatedly called him. Willy restrained himself. "Oh, I'm sorry. Yes, it's something to do with Iron and Potassium as well. Hey, I think it's better if you ask Alana. I think she knows that." He purposely suggested.

Cara didn't think twice and nodded straight away as she makes herself to Alana's desk.

WIlly can't understand. It was obvious that Cara actually knows how to do it. But she's pretending too much. Too much that he finds it anooying. He didn't like it when people asking something that already know. I

And just like that, the time passed by. When the bell rang, he watched as Alana and her friends walked out of the classroom. Alana will always be the first person to step out from the class. He knows too much about her. Willy knows where she's heading every day after school.

She's not like other kid, she'll need to work. To earn money for making a living for herself and her grandma. Otherwise, she'll have nothing to eat. Alana didn't want to burdensome her grandma. She's independent since younger.

* * * * *

As soon as Alana changed in to her uniform, she helped with arranging the new stock of things on to the shelves. Working in 7 Eleven wasn't bad. With the money she earns, she can even save for the future. Thus, she didn't think of quiting her job. Moreover, the owner of the shop is quite nice to her.

"Alana, I'm going out for a while. Look after the shop for me. I'll be back as soon as possible," the owner, Mrs Rorra said before she left the shop. Alana obeyed.

She quickly finish her work and sat at the counter once finished. She took her book from her backpack. As she was on the last question, struggling to answer the mathematics question, the door swung opened. Just like other days, it's wasn't other than Willy and his friends. They live a few block not far from the shop.

The boys make themselves walking in to the shop, mostly searching for snacks for them to hang out. Ryan, one of her classmates was with them too. He was the first one to come to the counter with two cokes and two chips snacks.

"Hey, Alana," he greeted. Ryan was very casual with her. Despite he's Willy's friends, he still greeted her. unlike Willy, he barely talked with her only if she talked with him first.

"Hi. Hanging out?" she grabbed the item as she scanned the price tag. "Yeah. Would you mind giving me some discount?" He's on the verge of begging.

"Pfft. I had almost gave you discount for everytime you'd came here." Alana snorted. His friends broke in to a laughter. "It's not hurting, you'd know" He rolled his eyes.

"It is." she retorted back. As the other boys paid their items, Willy was the last one. The others left the shop and waited outside.

"Hey Willy," she greeted him, like the friendly she is. "H-Hi," He stammered.

But only to earn a giggled from her. "Why are you stuttering? Did you choke on your own saliva?"

Willy can't help but to let out a nervous laughed. He can't restrained himself in front of her. She's too much to ignore. "I guess," he shrugged.

His voice was deep, unlike the other guy. With his sleeveless white shirt, for sure they're going to play basketball after this besides hanging around.

"Here's your things. Come again next time," Alana handed the plastic bag to him. He tooked it from her. He cursed inwardly as their skin brushed against each other. Instead of answering her, he just nodded cautiously before heading out of the shop.

Alana resumed back to her school work and eventually finished it. When her shift ended, she bought some food from a nearby shop to bring home.

"Grandma~ I'm home," she called. Her grandma was knitting a sweater on a bamboo chair in front of the television.

"You're finally here. Have you eat yet?" her grandma asked.

She shook. "No. I brought roasted chicken home!" She beamed. Her grandma shook her head. "You're wasting your own money. I had already cooked for us just so you know."

She put her backpack on one of the chair and ignored the old lady's nag as she turned to go to the kitchen to grabbed a plate.
