Day 6 - angst love sliceoflife school tragedy - chapter image

A A A A

That morning, Alana had been picked by Willy to his house. He had told her to stay at his house as he's going to bring her to their wedding occasion. They need to organize a few things before the wedding. Somehow, Alana's grandma was admitted to the hospital since Thursday.

They'll getting married in just 24 hours. She'll fetch her grandma tomorrow morning before they drive to the West. Alana had been stayed at his house since yesterday. He had went to school that morning. They promised to go together once Willy returned from school.

He had basketball tournament actually. Rather than sitting alone, doing nothing, Alana made up her mind to go to her workplace. She needs to tell Mrs Rorra that she'll take a leave for a few days for some family matters. Slipping into her flat shoes, Alana took a walk to 7 Eleven.

Her mind felt a little bit better than earlier. he had been crying almost everyday since the tragedy happened. And now, she's carrying another person in her tummy. Even if her stomach haven't showing yet, she could feel the presence of another life in her stomach. If she had thought of aborting the baby a few days ago, she can't do it again by then. The feeling had gotten into her. She didn't hate the unborn baby but she didn't want the baby to have the same unfortunate fate like her. No one to takes care of her and worst, have no parents.

Of course Alana knows the feelings of no parents. She was once hated herself for being insulted as the unwanted child. She didn't want another person having the same unfortunate fate like her.

When she reached the shop, she went straight in to one of the snacks shelves. If usually Ryan would buy a lot of snacks and bag of chips, today was her day. Alana had grabbed three bags of chips and a bottle of pepsi. She's not a fan of coke. Alana was about to pay for the items when she realised it was one of her classmates too, Raven. Raven Perry who sat in the middle, is a very random girl.

She had moved to the school when they're in the same middle school. Raven is quiet rich. Her parents are both doctors.

"Alana?" Raven said as she saw Alana walking towards her direction. "H-Hi." She stuttered. If before, Willy would be the one who's stuttering more than ever, it's her turn nowadays. She had strangely getting affect by him as well.

"It's a pleasure to meet you hear." Raven beamed as she smiled to her. Alana slowly crept a smile on her face as well. "Same here. I'll pay for this first. See you next time." She quickly got away of the conversation that might grew longer. Before it's too late for her to back away, it's better if she excused herself by then.

"Okay then. See you at school next week." Raven said one last time before she headed in search for her stuffs. Alana hastedly made a short note to Mrs Rorra and had entrusted another worker of the shop to pass it to her.

When she's done, Alana exited the shop and walked to Willy's house again.

When Willy arrived home, he didn't realized that Alana had went out. Only after 10 minutes he realized that she's not around. She didn't even have a phone. And what's worst was that he started to think that maybe she had run away. He opened the door again and leave the house. With a wide step, he had just about to enter his car when he saw a girl in yellow sleeveless walking with plastic bag swinging in her hands.

He breathed a realieved as he shutted the car's door. Alana looked up when she heard the sound of the door shutting. She looked very innovent. Her eyes rounded when she saw him smiling at her. She still hates him.

Hating him for ruining everything about her not so perfect life. "Where have you been? You almost makes me got a heart attack."

Alana looked away as she brushed passed him. She ignored him as she headed to the house. "Alana, I'm asking you, here."

Without turning around, she took off her flat shoes, "Why do you care?"

Willy didn't think twice and answered, "Because I care for you." But Alana didn't buy his words. She headed to the living room and putted the plastic bag that contained the foods she bought earlier on the small black table.

"What did you bought?" Willy try to make a conversation. Alana huffed and grumbled. "Can't you mind your own business?"

Willy only shutted his mouth then. He took a sit at her side as she kept on eating the junk food. When she finished the first bag of the chps, sh teared off another opened.

Willy caught her by surprised, "Whoa, this is not good for your health."

She pursed her lips in annoyance as she took the pepsi earlier. She was about to drink it when Willy took it too. "What the heck is your problem?"

He didn't answer her. Instead, Willy settled the things that he had took from her earlier on the table. "Are you hungry? I'll take you to the restaurant." He grabbed her wrist but Alana only pulled her wrist away.

"I am but I'm not hungry for that kind of food. Also, I didn't want to waste the money since I'm taking a leave a lot" There was sarcasm in her voice. Willy know the real thing she tried to say. She's going of lacking of money since she had been taking a leave a lot lately.

Alana retrieved back eating her food earlier. "When are we going seriously?" She asked without looking athim. Her eyes was like stucked on the tv screen although there's nothing really interesting was on.

Willy sat there in observed, "I changed my mind. I had settled everything earlier."

Alana didn't say anything much as she kept on chewing her food. Willy realized that she looked like a middle school student rather than high school student when she had cutted her hair. It wasn't that short, but still it's perfectly looks good on her. She hardly tie her hair up.

Little did he know, he's started to understand the real Alana Cooper is.

* * * * *

Alana and Willy had both prepared for their secret wedding. She was dressed in a white, long dress with a white veil covered half of her head. Even so, she didn't intend to look perfect on that day. This wasn't the marriage she had dreamt of.

Willy, wearing a black tuxedo, he looked more than perfect because he's good-looking. Willy didn't tell his parents and his older brother about the wedding. The only person that know about the wedding are Alana's grandma and Willy's younger brother, Ian.

Ian Chen was the only person he could trusted on. Ian was the only person he could leaned on despite that the fact that Ian is younger than him. Willy and Ian are really closed to each other. They're like best friend.

While waiting for Alana to walk in, Willy kept on repeating the vows he's going to say later on. At the same time, Ian had finally arrived. He had returned from Ireland where he lives and study. Ian was wearing black tux too. The two brothers embraced each other as Ian patted on his brother back. "Hey, good luck."

Willy pulled out from the embraced and nodded, "Thanks."

The two really look a like. However, Ian looks younger than Willy. Ian took a seat at one of the bench. Earlier a few days ago, he remembered how his brother had called him telling him the whole story. It's not that Willy was tattletale at him. Willy needed someone to hear him out. With Alana that was more than depressed, that won't do.

Not Ryan nor Josh. They're not the type that Willy can leaned on.

Once Alana makes her entrance to the church, Willy turned around. How surprised was him when he saw her. She looks so pretty and graceful. Despite her stubborn headed behaviour, her foul mouth sometimes, nor her crazy laugh, she looks perfect.

Willy practically forgot how to breathe. She was awestruckly beautiful.

He waited for her to put her hand into his before the priest started his words. Alana was insanely mesmerizing. Even Ian can't deny her beauty.

When it's finally the time for Willy to say his vows, he tooked a deep breathed. He cleared his throat as he prepared his mind on what he had memorized earlier.

"I, Willy Chen, take you, Alana Cooper, as my legal wife," He paused as he breathed in.

He then continuead again, "I promised to love you without reservation, comfort you in times of your depression, encourage you to achieve your goals, laugh with you, cry with you, grown with you in mind, and spirit, always there to take care of you, be with you and your forever saviour..."

Alana quietly listened to every words he's saying. Although she can't believed on his vows, it's God that they're vowing in front of. Alana was a bit touched by his generous vows. Somehow, she could felt the tears in her eyes already.

Willy resumed, "and cherish you for as long as you live." He finally finished. The priest and the others remained quiet waiting for Alana's answer. Alana gulped down her worries. "I-I do." She stuttered.

Then, the priest told Alana to say her vows. Alana didn't prepared much. She had intended to do it short and plain.

She pursed her lips together before she begins, "I, Alana Cooper, take you as my husband, W-Willy Chen. I trust you and let you enter my world." She finished.

Willy didn't expect her to say that's the least. Because he knows how much she hates him. Willy felt warmth in his heart. He steal a glanced at her. "I do." He answered a little too generous.

And just like that, the priest announced 'you may now kiss the bride'. But Willy knows his limit. He didn't kiss her but only squeezed her hands as she teared up. Willy took her in his embraced. Alana's grandma approached them two as she patted both of the younger couple's back lightly.

"It's okay, it's okay. Everything happened for a reason." But that only made Alana cried more.

* * * * *

Ian had drove them four back to the house. Her grandma had told to sleep at Willy's house since no one would accompany her at home. Ian stayed in his room while Willy and Alana stayed in Willy's room. Alana hated how she had to sleep with him.

She still hate him with all that had happened. Willy knew but he's matured so he thought wiser than she's.

When midnight approached, Alana refused to sleep as her mind still wandered of to her grandma and other things. She strangely missed her grandma even they're a room apart. But her grandma had pushed her away, and told her to sleep with her husband.

Willy came to the bed where Alana was lying. He had just returned from the living room after watching one of the basketball match. He noticed that Alana hadn't sleep.

"You can sleep here. I'll be sleeping on the couch." He said as he took his pillows and a cover from the closet. Alana didn't say anything but quietly breathed a relieved. She was still uncomfortable with his presence on a same bed. Although all of it wasn't Willy's fault, Alana just can't seemed to forgive him just then.

She dragged her pillow to the center and eventually closed her eyes.

Willy saw Alana from afar. The sound of the children playing in a circle merrily makes him harder to see what she was doing.

Alana turned her body around and looked at him. She looks rather sadder than usual. Her eyes was so melancholy. She's wearing a white night gown, and her hair was been blew by the cold wind.

She faced front and made her steps away. "Alana" Willy called after her.

She didn't turn around. Maybe the kids were too loud. Alana kept on waling as Willy made himself through the crowds of kids.

He saw at the end of the way, it was so dark that he felt his gut twisted. "Alana," he called after her as she made her way to the dark end alley.

Alana still didn't turn around. She kept on strolling the alley. That's when Willy realized a guy with a black hood waiting at the end of the alley. The stranger looks intimidating and all Willy could see was that his devilish smirked.

Willy ran towards the Alana. There's no way she'll turn around at that moment anymore. She's too occupied. "Alana!" He screamed. No use. She kept on heading to the stranger.

"No!" He shrieked when she was being pulled by the stranger. Alana dropped a tear and vanished in the darkness.

No. Willy thought. No!

Willy sat up with beads of cold sweat. He's panting hoarsely. It's a nightmare for him. And he realized that was just a dream. Willy pushed the cover off of his feet and made his way to his bedroom.

He sighed a relieved when he saw that Alana was still lie down on the bed, sleeping soundly. He approached the bed and lightly laid his butt at the edge of the bed. With the lights from the road, he could clearly see hints of her angelic face. She looks innocent in times like that but this girl is really unpredictable.

Willy fixed her cover that wrapped around her waist loosely. He then picked a strand of her hair and pushed it behind her ears.

Beautiful, Willy thought. He slowly leaned in and pecked her temple.

Sweet dream, sweetheart. He looked at her one last time before he exited the room.
