Throughout the day, Catherine observed Cindy's every move. It was all so...Asian and so much like the typical rich-kid high school behavior that every citizen expected from the elite class.

First, Cindy had her notebook out with writing utensils neatly placed on the right side of her notebook during first period. She would stare at the teacher intently, absorbing every bit of information, jotting down notes as well. In second period during calculus, Cindy had put her glasses away so she looked less out of place, but she had made up for it by hauling out the big, humongous textbook the school provided. Absolutely no one used it. Not even the nerds of the school, so the fact that someone actually bothered to let alone touch the textbook made Cindy stick out like a sore thumb. 

The rest of the day progressed and the next time Catherine was in the same class as Cindy was during PE, the last period of the day. Well, this is going to be entertaining, Catherine thought. Today, they were playing volleyball. Other than being a bully, Catherine was known for being a star player in volleyball.

The gym teacher, who was practically bald, blew his whistle. "Bloom and Wang! Choose your teams!" he bellowed from his chair. He took a sip of water, snatched a random magazine out from someone's backpack, and plopped it over his face to sleep. Catherine shook her head, Old man might as well get wasted in a bar.

"So..." Cindy looked at Catherine. "You wanna start first?" Catherine nodded, and smirked. So maybe the girl knew where she stood, not to mess with her. Without hesitation, Catherine chose all the jocks to be on her team and left Cindy with the nerds. 

Cindy frowned, "Don't we take turns? You choose someone and then I choose someone?" 

Catherine rolled her eyes and snorted, "Deal with it." She lead her team on to one side of the net and Cindy lead hers on to the other side. 

"Who serves first?" Cindy asked. 

Not even bothering to reply, Catherine just took a ball from the closet inside the gym and served it over the net. She watched as the ball sailed over in a perfect arc. No one went to hit it. The ball was passed under the net to Catherine. Again, it flew over in a perfect arc and no one went to hit it. Irritated, Catherine chucked the ball to Cindy. "Why don't you serve since no one on your loser team is going to get it?" she huffed. 

Cindy just shrugged and didn't seem the least bit fazed by the insult. She gently bumped the ball over the net and one of the players on Catherine's team ran up to set it back. As expected, it hit the ground in front of one of the nerds on Cindy's team. 

Eventually, Catherine and Cindy got their teams to get a rally going. The ball was bumped towards Cindy, and she set it to the front. One of her players bumped it over the net and Mia ran up to spike it. Suddenly, Catherine got an idea. Sure, it was mean. It would be humiliating for Cindy, but it would be hysterical. "Yo, Mia!" Catherine called across the court. Mia turned around and Catherine wiggled her eyebrows at her, then looked at Cindy. 

Seeming to get the message, the next time the ball went towards Mia, she set it over to Catherine. Catherine jumped up and spiked it. 

BAM! It hit Cindy in the head. She fell onto the ground and touched the red mark on her forehead. Catherine high-fived Mia and the rest of her team cheered and mocked Cindy. Some boys even sat on the ground like Cindy.

Catherine chuckled. 

This year was going to be fun with Cindy around. She'd probably be gone and out of town within the next month.
