Si Pitong, Noong Panahon ng mga Hapon is part of Adarna House's Batang Historyador Series, written by Augie Rivera. It was produced in cooperation with UNICEF to give a peak on the situation of children and their rights in this particular era in the Philippines. What is noteworthy about this story is that it actually shows the mistreatment in that period without being too graphic. It was presented as if Pitong was just taking a vacation and war time was very downplayed.  I believe this book will be appropriate for children who are in grades three and above, as a suplement for their history lessons. The way Nada illustrated the story was a lot brighter than what you would expect of something telling a story set on the Japanese occupation. But it complements Rivera's narration very well. Among the series, I liked this book most because I was familiar with the places used (as I am from Tarlac). As part of a series, it goes perfectly well with the theme of children's rights.
