The book is an alternative take on the gospels of the Bible, according to Levi bar Alpheus or Biff: the fictional childhood friend of Jesus. It attempts to fill in Jesus' missing years that wasn't shown in the Bible. In my opinion, what the author was trying to convey is that truth is subjective as to who is telling it. I would like to take note on how the book incorporates very diverse teachings and writings in the story such as writings of Lao Tzu, Upanishads, Kama Sutra, Torah, Tao Te Ching etc. I believe that this book will be well appreciated by those who are already well versed with the new testaments, those who like me are coming from Christian high schools. I wouldn't say that the book affected me in terms of religion as I believe that it should be read, bearing in mind that it is an absurdist book. Compared to other books by Moore that I have read, Lamb proves to have the most interesting plot and set of characters.
