remarks ;

The book tells the story of a poor boy named Charlie Bucket and a famous chocolatier, Willy Wonka's factory. The book was inspired by the author's experience whe he was younger and chocolate companies would send test samples to children, in return for feedback. I believe that the author was just trying to convey what he imagined the competitive and highly guarded chocolate factories to be. The plot was simple and cliche to a point. I find the character of Willy Wonka to be most interesting as I couldn't quite place if he was good, bad or just bonkers. Blake's illustrations were colorful and fun, just like Willy Wonka. It might be appealing to younger readers but the book itself can will be well appreciated by middle grade students up to high school. Compared to other works of Dahl, I like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the most as it paints the most colorful and vivid world in your mind.
