I shifted a little on my chair and crossed my arms, tapping my foot impatiently. Seriously? What in the world was taking so long? I was in the main building waiting to take the diagnosis test. The lady at the front desk had asked me which test I wanted to take and I asked for the hardest one. She said that she'd be right back to get the test booklet. But guess what? It's been thirty freaking minutes.

Right back? I scoffed. I wonder what her definition of later is.

I stood up from my chair and walked around, stretching a bit. Finally, the lady came back and motioned for me to follow her. We went to the back room and she pulled out a chair for me. I sat at the round table and she placed the test booklet in front of me. 

"Here you go. Take your time." She checked her watch. "You have three hours."

I nodded, not expecting myself to take long. What can I say? Vampires are awesome. I ripped open the booklet and got started right away while the lady typed away at the computer. 

An hour later, I was done. I closed the booklet and glanced at the lady. She was still typing away. From where I sat, I could see what website she was on. What was it, Facebook? Or was it Twitter? Whatever.

I squeaked my chair a little to catch her attention. She flung her gaze at me. "Oh! You're done!" 

No duh. Not everyone's a slow slug like you.

She reached into a cabinet and pulled out another booklet: Language Arts and Literacy. Like the math booklet, I sped through it. 

She nodded, "Impressive. You can come by tomorrow at any time to take a test for second langusge." It was already past 9.

I nodded and left the building. 

In my apartment, I washed up and got ready for bed. But the thing is, I didn't go to bed. In fact, I didn't sleep a wink.

...Would Ryan be proud of me now that I'm taking a step towards human life again?
