“Stop ya fuckin’ whimpering!” Hiruma whipped out a machine gun and open-fired on his teammates.

Even being a group of idiots, the victims knew when to run. And so they did, full pelt down the hallway and as far away from that trigger-happy manic as physically possible. It was bad enough when the demonic leader waved his trusty firearms around casually, but today he was in an especially hyper mood. Jūmonji swore the twisted quarterback actually PMS’ed. Unfortunately for the shorter blond, he swore it aloud...And within earshot of their dear Captain. Hence, why the remainder of the Devil Bats were running, ducking and dodging from a bombardment of seemingly endless ammunition.

“Fuckin’!-”

Crash.

Along with the sound of a collision, the shooting stopped, as did the shabbily strung together curses.

Not being too bright, Deimon’s football team stopped giving it legs and surrendered to their curiosity. Whatever had stopped their gun toting friend was definitely worth checking out. Strategically looking around the corner – which was more like Sena getting pushed straight out into the open first – the boys blinked, unable to comprehend what was going on.

“I said watch where you’re fuckin’ going, punk.” A female loomed over the floored commander and sneered. She was obviously from another planet. That was the only sound reason for such an attitude. Especially with that devil of a man.

Hiruma just smirked at the student before him. It didn’t seem to faze him in the slightest that this ‘student’ had acquired his firearm and was waving it readily in his face.

“Che! Fuckin’ tits, why don’t ya just give that back and fuck off?” The blond Quarterback mocked.

His opponent on the other hand, crouched down to the lounging boy and glared back with twice as much force. “You want it?” She shook the gun from side to side nonchalantly before shooting back up to a standing position. “Fetch!” With an almighty swing, the delinquent girl hurled the weapon out of the third floor window.

As one would imagine, the people who knew the Commander from Hell recoiled in horror. Everyone knew the Hiruma spent just as much time polishing his prized weapons just as much as he did practice. Like an explosion, the devil incarnate sprung from his spot on the floor, only to tackle the girl back to the ground. “Fuckin’ bitch. What did ya do that for?!”

The horrified teammates rushed in to save the girl from her certain doom. Or so they thought.

Stopping only a few feet away, the other members could see that the scuffle wasn’t entirely one-sided. Sure, Hiruma had pinned the girl down and had an unyielding grip on her face, but the opposition had a fist full of his hair and was yanking him down viciously with just as much force as her legs kicked wildly.

Fussing as usual, Kurita was looking around for help and flapping his arms in panic as he pleaded with his long-time friend to let go of the stranger. “She’s just a girl!”

Those words instantly stopped the female’s writhing. Her eyes instantly locked onto her next victim and her dark aura flared. “Just a girl?” Shrugging off her previous challenger with an elbow to his face, she jumped up.

One would think that the Devil Bats very own king of conniving would be bored by now, but any kind of thought like that was quickly dismissed when his trademark snigger cut through the atmosphere. The group turned to inspect the twisted boy.

Narrowed eyes? Check! Devils handbook? Check! Creepy elongated shadow that looked blatantly misplaced? Check!

“You...” He started happily, without looking up from the small black book. There was an eerie pause. Hiruma scowled before licking his fingers and flicking through the worn, deadly jotter again. Finally he looked up. Glowering perilously, he strode over to the tall female. “Why are you not in here?” He thrust the notebook in her face like it was her fault.

Just by looking at his disgruntled expression, she could tell he wasn’t used to such setbacks. As if a light went on in her head, she turned her nose up and looked away. “Oh~ I don’t know.” A barely visible smirk twitched on her lips at his awaiting expression. “Maybe you overlooked something.”

“Fuckin’ bitch!” Again, the demonic boy tackled his annoyance to the floor and began shaking her out of frustration.

“Hiruma, stop being foolish.” At long last, a voice of reason intervened.

“Stay out of it, fuckin’ old man.”

While her opponent’s attention was partially diverted, the strange female took the chance to attack. Hooking a scarred finger through one of his right earrings, she gave a swift tug to pull the metal hoop free. Unlike a normal person, Hiruma moved in to screech – Emphasizing his pain.

“What’re you whining like a bitch for? It’s not like it ripped your ear open...Although, not like it matters; you have more than enough of those.” The girl jabbed his pointed ear, stressing her argument.

A short while later and the quarrelling pair had been split up, but that didn’t stop the fighting talk at all. “Feel free to find out my personal information.” She flapped her hand, condescending clear in her voice.

Hiruma’s smirk grew. He was never one to pass up on a challenge after all. “I will, and when I do, you’ll become my slave. Got it?”

The delinquent girl placed a thoughtful finger to her lower lip. “Hm, okay. But it has to be good information; nothing measly like a crush from the past.” Both students nodded in agreement and the sparks of competitiveness flew. “Oh, one more thing.” Like earlier, her warped smile became obvious. “If I find something out about you...You’ll become my slave.” Before the boy could try to compromise or even think it over, the group was interrupted.

“Onikita?” The shrill call startled the girl. Snapping her attention to the shriek, she recoiled from the sight with a squeal. No sooner than the girl had realised that she was being targeted by misfits – For the second time today – her legs moved instinctively in the opposite direction of the fast approaching group. “Onikita, wait! We need to talk!” What appeared to be the leader of a second group of boys was already sprinting to catch up to the alarmed girl.

“Like Hell we need to talk.” Picking up the pace, Onikita dashed down the hallway.

By the time the group that had been chasing Onikita had got to where she had been spotted, she had already disappeared.

“Oi, fuckin’ oldies.” Hiruma politely called over the third years. “Who’s she?”  Expecting answers, the devilish Quarterback already had his notebook and a pencil ready.

The terrified third years glanced to each other. Between the stuttering and violent sweats, the boys had handed over all information they had on the unsuspecting girl.

“Dismissed.” Hiruma waved off his upperclassmen with disinterest.

“I’m home.” The quiet words didn’t go unnoticed. In a flash, the large traditional house began shaking. Like a stampede of elephants, four burley men between the ages of eighteen and twenty five raced around the corner all yelling at the same time.

“Kyourin!”
“-What did-?”
“-How was-?”
“-Will you-?”
“-We’ve ordered-”
“-You better-”

A thin blonde eyebrow twitched in irritation: This however, went completely unnoticed and the men continued to babble. Kyourin felt her blood pressure rise along with the volume of her family’s incoherent bellowing. Seriously, did these people not understand how loud they were? No wonder she received strange looks from the neighbours…Who lived a quarter of a mile down the road.

Feeling a sharp jab on her shoulder blade, the teen spun around ready to bite the head off of whoever had just poked her.

“Welcome home.”

Finally. The only female gave a thankful sigh at the sight of someone who didn’t exhaust her by just being around her. Akihito; A boy of fifteen with a slender build and about a head shorter that the female gave a relaxed eye-smile as he chomped on a fast melting popsicle.

Out of nowhere, a sixth boy side tackled the weary girl. It looked as though no effort was put into the assault, yet the pair ended up crashing into the parallel wall to the left. The brittle wooden panelling splintered under the pair’s weight and a growl escaped the girl who had smacked her head in the collision.

Another wall to be fixed...

The bickering men stopped to look over that the pair crumpled on the floor. “Rin...?”

“What’s this?” In the confusion, Akihito spotted a glint on the floor. Scooping up the small object, he began inspecting it.

Realising what her brother was holding, Kyourin pushed her attacker away and lunged at the youngest sibling. “I’m going to my room...” After quickly receiving her battle prize and shoving it into her bag, she collected the rest of her belongings from the ground and scurried off before her brothers could ask any questions.

Once in the privacy of her room, Kyourin fished the small earring from her bag and snatched up a thin chain off her dresser as she passed. Threading the necklace through the hoop, she made an indifferent expression. “It’s just so I don’t lose it,” she convinced herself. Sparing a final glance, she fastened the chain around her neck and tucked it under her shirt.

Throwing her bag out of the way, her aching body fell back on the unmade bed. She didn’t dare to move. Not once, not twice, but three times she had been attacked today. Five if you count the vindictive turnstyle at the train station. Not content with harassing her on the way to school, it got her on the way home too.

She wouldn’t call herself a walking disaster (most would) but she certainly wasn’t graceful either. Sure she tripped every so often, nearly got ran-over on occasion, and walked into walls from time to time, but that was normal, right? Hell, she didn’t have the time to be paying attention to where she was going, that was her legs’ job. It wasn’t as bad as it sounds...Or maybe she had just gotten used to it. Even her siblings made fun of her for it. That’s when she knew she was inept at taking care of herself: When her muscle-head brothers jested over her inelegance. Although, throw her into a brawl and she comes out with barely a scratch. Miracles work in mysterious ways, she supposed.

She was just about average in everything except for fighting: average grades, average people-skills, and average at sports....Okay, maybe she was a little below with the grades and the people skills but, some genius decided to create a boxing club. And everyone knows that you can make up the missing points from mandatory classes with points from a sports club, right. At least she was keeping her GPA up by hitting the people who pissed her off.

On the subject of the boxing club, that was probably them blowing up her phone right now. The only reason why she ran away from them earlier was because...Okay again, maybe she didn’t have an excuse for pegging it at the mere call of her name...This time. Or did she? She couldn’t even remember, she was too tired and the niggling thoughts of that cocky blond bastard from earlier were putting her in an even worse mood.

Just when she thought she’d got used to her ringtone, it had started to irritate her again. Snatching up the black device, she pressed the centre button. Bleary eyed, she tried to concentrate on the newest message.

‘Fuckin’ tits, what are you sleeping for? The devil’s ready to take your soul. Be careful of the shadows. YA-HA!’

Kyourin slowly pieced together what was written on the screen. And not so slowly, her anger flared. Paying no notice to the digital clock at read 03:26am, she let out a frustrated groan and tossed her phone on the pillow behind her.

Binoculars in one hand and sub-machine gun in the other, Hiruma Yoichi perched inconspicuously in a gingko tree that hung over the ten foot stone wall of his prey’s garden. Eyes of a hawk were an understatement as he watched his victim leap for the window. He’d give her one thing, she wasn’t a coward. Any normal girl would have rushed for the lights and then closed the windows.

Adorned with a forced fierce expression Kyourin thrust her head out of the window and yelled as loud as her lungs would allow. “Elf bastard!”

A sharp ‘pop’ of chewing gum was overtaken by a trademark ishishishi laugh that lingered in mild early morning air.

Lucky for Kyourin, Hiruma didn’t notice the silver chain hung from her neck as she dangled out of the window screaming obscenities, or else she’d be dealing with more than vaguely threatening text messages at ungodly hours.
